I'm back! A set of spark plugs and a good deal from Renob on a windshield frame, and Hyjak is rolling again. :)

I ordered the AEV "heat reduction" hood yesterday, not because I needed it, because Sharon (and I) wanted it....:D
If anyone has any advise on the install, please post up. I'm also looking for a recommendation for a good body shop on the west side.
Until the hood comes in I will be "sporting a little trail carnage" as Lance so aptly put it.

I'll send you a PM on the paint;) Your jeep should look great with the AEV hood and help with all that excess heat.
PS. Where did you get the hood?

Oh man, don't ever say that! My Jeep is loved, not abused! :D :D
Where did you find that dirty pile of snow?
And you should be careful of off-line tow ropes, you could get pulled over and flop...

lol those rocks are nice and slippery so there wasnt any worry. I was sitting on the peak right on my belly pan so it rotated like atop. I actually started out going the opposite direction as i am stopped but when i got stopped on top the back barely had any traction and i pivoted around the peak :D

a good deal from Renob on a windshield frameYou're welcome. I'm just glad your shovel made it through this ordeal, unscathed.

So Wayco, did you have a bent rod from trying to bump start the engine after the roll?

No, it was an oil fouled spark plug. I did learn how to remove the valve cover though.:)
In a futile attempt to get this thread back on track, DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A GOOD BODY SHOP ON THE WEST SIDE?

Wayne,
Glad you got things looking like a jeep again.:D It looks like the only way to
keep from busting the windshield in a roll over like you did is to take it off! If
you would have had your windshield and top off, you would have been in good
shape as far as damage done. The rest of the armor held up good. As far as
the hood hoop, I wish mine was about an inch or so taller!. Can't wait to see
the new hood.:D

Their on Dysart down by the high school. Been around for years. I've used them on several occasions, and have ALWAYS been pleased with their work.

Bob does good work though and he is a good fellow...
Drives a CJ too... :)

Wayne, I have the dented hood in the same place! Scorpion on a couple of different occasions got me. You should leave it alone, because your Jeep and my Jeep are almost identical twins! Mine must be the one that is a little retarded though, everyone likes to pick on it.

Thanks for the referrals, gang. I will try Agua fria body first, they are in my neighborhood.
Lance, you are probably right, but I would like to make Hyjak all one color! I'm not really happy with the rattle can paint job I did on the fenders.

Should have gone with black paint like I did, then you dont have to match it! Or just drag it across a bunch of rocks like I do, then the scrapes help to blend it the paint.

Wayne, You could get in contact with member BK2LIFE on the board here. He runs a little business that does custom painting and such.

The 3/16" steel crusher corner took most of the abuse, but the tub still has part of my soft top, and it won't let go! :D

Perhaps I missed it, but where else is the damage? I can only see the fender and the hood. It isnt trail damage, it is battle scars!

Just got off the phone with Mike in Detroit, (AEV) he thinks that my hood was shipped today, but computer glitches and a phone out of order keeps me from knowing for sure. Hope it comes in before we leave for Sedona next Friday.
Anybody want to help me install it? I would invite Jason, but Sharon is starting to look for her own Jeep, and I'm having trouble convincing her that SpongeBob's Jeep isn't what she wants..... Then there's Monkeybars Jeep....

What's wrong Wayne..scared I might sell your wife a JK???? I can help with your new hood, Make sure you do not sell your current hood as every accessory comes off your hood to transfer to the new aev hood.
