I'd like to learn more about the couples that are interested in this forum. Ages, length of marriage, other intersts (aside from jeeps) and stuff.

Personally I've been married almost 7 months now, no kids yet. I'm 27, the wife is 24. I like cheep entertainment. My idea of a fun night is a BBQ followed by some card games (hand and foot, rummy, cribage... I know a lot of em) partnered with good quality wine/beer/spirits. I'm past my party animal/clubing days. My wife isn't too fond of my jeeping interests so its practically impossible to get her on the trail.

We are both into wheeling and I love working on them almost as much.

Married almost four years now, together almost eight.
We have one son, 19 months old.
Two cats (our other "kids")

We each rotate who drives and who spots, when we wheel. I let her drive the first time out, when my buddy was introducing us to wheeling, and she loved it. She definitely gained respect for what we could do in our Jeep compared to "mere mortal" vehicle.

Outside of wheeling, we are both really into spending time with our son, particularly during these formative years. Many may think of it as a chore, but it is what you make of it. So that consumes much of our time right now.

We like to bike ride, game (D&D and Alternity), she likes to read, I like to play head2head and co-op computer games.

Lia and I have been married for 26 years. Have two kids that are grown and married themselves.

That thing about your kids married themselves...you might get away with that in certain Southern States, but prolly ought to keep it hush-hush out here! :D :p

OK...this is a fun thread to read! My wife and I are both 35, OK - turned 36 last Sunday. Been married almost 13yrs, together about 18. We have one son - Colin - who is 3.5, and one dog - Shelby (ACD mix) - that's about 10?

Live East Mesa and moved to AZ in 1994.

Interests are basically the same as everyone elses so far. We miss the nights of games/cards with others. Used to do that every Friday when we first moved to AZ, but just fell off the schedule once all other friends started having their kids.

Same with camping. Used to go quite a bit, but has been a few years now. Our son is getting to be about the right age where we should be taking him, so might be fun to try this summer. maybe ought to tent in the back yard first before finding out he hates it in the middle of the woods, though!!!

Other than that, I love my Jeep and mtn bikes. Lisa...she's OK with all of it. Likes the easy Jeep trips, like the UWP run from a few weeks ago. Been taking Colin since he ~1yr old, but he doesn't have a lot of runs under his belt. He also LOVED the UWP run, which was AWESOME, since he was scared of actually wheeling there for a while.

Summers will now be spent sippin ****tails by the pool...and night runs (w/out the family)!

Look at that little sperlunker!

When we lived in Montana my dad did lots of that, but about the time I was old enough to tag along we moved to WA. He stopped hunting and caving when we left. I went a couple times though, I'd like to go again, looks fun.

My wife, Cindy, and I have 5 children between us. I have 2 children and 9 grandchildren. She has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Been married 23 years this May.

We enjoy being outdoors, but mostly when we can go up North for the cooler weather. When the kids were younger, we used to hunt, fish, hike and camp. Now we work on the house and yard. We wheel when we can. She loves to wheel, but has trouble being in the heat and sun.

My wife (Erin) and I are both 32. We are actually 44 hours apart in age, so I get 44 hours of respect each year as her elder :)

We have been married for 8 years and have two great kids, 3 year old girl (Giselle) and 7 month old boy (Tyler).

My wife used to go on nearly every trail run with me, but since having kids, she has not been at all. She enjoys it, but is not nearly as passionate about it as I am. She is however really into Shoes, Shopping and Decorating.

We live in North Scottsdale, down the street from Jeff (twstdtj)

Here's a recent pic of my family.

Paige (35) and I (46) met on the internet in 95 (before it was 'in'). We've been married since 98 and have two daughters, Delaney (7) and Ashlyn (5).

We moved to AZ from Oregon in 2003. While we do lots of things together, Jeeping isn't one of them. Unfortunately, her dislike of Jeeping has rubbed off on the girls who also have no interest in joining Daddy on trips, although I'm working on them and hope to convert one or both as they get older. Maybe if I owned a newer, more comfortable rig...

We'd love to get together with others for dinner, conversation, etc. If we could only find a babysitter...

Met my wife when i was working (semiconductors) in Korea in 1996. Before getting married I took 1.5 years off of work and we traveled, mostly throughout SE Asia. We ended up getting married in 1999 and just last year had Hanna. Jenny turned 30 this year, I'm pushing 39  . Jenny used to Jeep with me but hasn't since she got pregnant. Future plans include some sort of seat/harness system for Hanna and to get Jenny back out again.

I'm 31 and my wife will be turning 36 in a couple months. We've been married since October '98 and have a 3.85 year old son and a 2.25 year old daughter. My wife has no interest in going 2 mph in the Jeep but loves doing 80mph across the sand dunes. She used to say wheeling is dangerous which is why she didn't want to go but frequently talks about how she thinks she'd be bored... regardless, I haven't gotten her to go yet.

Good news is she agreed to do the Sedona Jeep school with some friends of ours who I got a certificate for. She's going to be in a rented JK with an instructor. I'm *hoping* this will give her the Jeep bug...we'll see.

Other than that, we go to the dunes and camp primarily (by camp, I mean in the RV as my wife needs a place to plug in her hair dryer ;) ). We've recently gotten into hanging out with friends with kids of similiar age and playing cards, dominos, etc. I've laughed get togethers like that off for years but it actually is fun and gets us out of the house.

I've been a bit slow uploading pics to the site the last few months so here's a Christmas pic (I can say Christmas in public still can't I)?

I'm 27 and my Wife Mandy is 26. We met on April 7 of 1999, I proposed on Valentines Day of 2000 and we were married on December 22 of that same year. Our son Nicholas was born on May 7 2001 and is getting really close to his 6th birthday! We also have one dog. He's a pure bred Golden Retriever and his name is Oliver. Without a doubt he is the sweetest dog I have ever seen. We are an outdoor family but activities have been limited while my wife is in Nursing school. Thankfully she will be done this winter so we will have some freedom again. First toy on the list after she starts working is a travel trailer. We are camping junkies and before my son was born we went almost every weekend. We also love to geocache and hike.

We are 48 yoa. Been married 27 years this Oct. Denise spent her teenage years in a sand rail. Doesn't like jeeping. But she lets me go while she hangs out in the RV- no more tents!!!! 3 daughters- 24, 22, 22, 1 grandson-4, 1 granddaughter-2. One of the twins likes to wheel with me. She has a 99 Toy Taco, 6 in lift, 35's. This is my first jeep- used to wheel my full size daily driver. What a difference. Have not been on a trail ride yet- just joined the club.

WalterD and I will be married 24 years May 14th...

May 3rd I will be 43  :::gasp::: and Walt will be 46 in September :D (LOL... what an old PHART!!!)

We have 2 children, a son who will turn 21 in June - he is our Navy Boy - and a daughter that is 17.

We are both new to having jeeps... well not really new.. we have had the jeeps a year now but new to wheeling and this ever growing community.

We have a his, hers, and ours jeep thing going... now if only we can get the "ours jeep" going... ::: patience grasshopper :::

I have... what Andrea told me.. is a "Mall Jeep"... ok she is too pretty to get all scratched up. I "DID" take her out and find mud one day last year... yep.. got pictures to prove that she has been mudding.. left the mud on her a day... then took the pressure washer to her and got it off. Has she been mudding since... nope... will she go again... :p maybe <g>

Does this look like a typical "Mall Jeep"???

We also have 3 tarantulas, 2 tokay geckos, a rabbit, a guine pig, a little bit of this and a little bit of that..

If we had more time we would be out wheeling...

Wife Tina 35, I'm 40. Married 6+ years, 2x kids: Addison 5, Analicia 18mo.
I'm an avid competition shooter, firearms instructor and was a contractual trainer for many years. Now I manage an automotive repair shop in the West valley. Sold the Jeep last year since I only used it 1-2x per year. Regret ever since:( Looking for another 3 year project/builder rig so I can get back on the rocks with the family.

Ben and I have been together for over 2 years and married since January this year. I'm 27 and am 1 year and 3 days older than Ben...which he never lets me forget!! :) We have one son who is from my first marriage named Remington and is 5...no more additions planned for the family for a few years. I'm a Sergeant in the guard and Ben just joined the guard Oct 06 and got back from basic training in March - he is a Private First Class...we both work there full time.

We both love jeeping with/without Remi...Other than that, I love to play cards and shoot pool - Ben is usually into that also. We both love to go shooting, but I prefer indoor ranges in the warm months. Also Hockey and Baseball fans (Ben from detroit, loves Hockey and the Red Wings and I am a native and love baseball and the Cubbies)
If we go to a bar when we don't have Remi, it is a hole in the wall with a dart board and a pool table where we are the youngest by at least 10 years...no clubs. Also love to camp, fish, go to the beach, have dinner with other couples, and go to Farrellis to see movies (north scottsdale - dinner and drinks served in the movie theatre)
Once in a while I get to drag Ben to see the Phoenix Symphany Orchestra, but have been largely unsuccessful at getting him to go to the Ballet...anyone want to go four wheeling with my husband and send your wife with me to the ballet so you can get out of going also????

Been with my wife for 17 years (both of us had 4x4's back then and loved to wheel) and had 3.75 anniversaries (married for 15 years)... come on who can figure this out?

Just last year we were blessed with meeting out children (adopting) we have a 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter and both love wheeling!!!!!!! While they both will go rock crawling in think they like the higher speeds at the dunes and the sand was more fun for them to dig in while we are at camp.

We also have two dogs, they are going to be 3 years old this year (Simba and Nala).

Kath hasnt gotten a chance to go out wheeling(CJ is/has been in the garage for WAY too many years and her 93ZJ DD isnt up to it) BUT we recently got a used 04 Rubi that we want to start taking out and seeing some of the lakes/easy trials with until the winter when we plan on getting the CJ going and start taking it out. We enjoying hanging out w/friends/ having people over to party/cook. We enjoy darts/pool(I suck) and poker too. We just havent found many in our area to meet/hang out with BUT have been hanging out on this site a lot more so look forward to finally meeting a few more here.

I'm telling ya...BBQ'd Parrot's are yummy!!! :D

New to this forum and just discovered this one. Hope its not too late:

Leah and I have been married 8 yrs and between the 2 of us we have 7 kids. Its the hers, mine, and ours thing but I've personally participated in the biological creation of 5. They range in age from 5-17. When we're all together we're our own baseball team... it's truly frightening.

I'm 39 and she's 32. I'm a cop and she's in nursing school. Based on the above information, my YJ build will be an extended project:(

Happy to be here and have met some great people already.

I've been married to Carolina for 3 years today - it's her birthday too. We're both in our mid-30s w/ two boys, an 8 year old and one 14 months. I'm a computer geek, and she's a lawyer.

We have been trying to find more things that we can do as a family with other people.

Married almost seven years. I'm 44, wife is Lisa, I won't tell her age. We were both previously married, so hers, mine, ours = 6 kids. About the only time she'll ride/drive in the jeep is when the top is off, the whether is nice, and its a short trip to the movie store. She hates it when I give the jeep any attention, that could be spent on attention to her. We spend a lot of time on the side lines to the kids games and activities. The kids carry the ball now...

Married foir nine years, have one 14 month-old little girl.
I'm 32, she's 30.
enjoy long walks in the... oh, wait, that's my online alter ego
We mainly enjoy sitting at home or hanging out with the cool neighbors we lucked out on.
Other than that we like travel. That's about where our similarities end, though. Opposties attract, but they don't tend to do a lot together

This club is looking better and better all the time. My wife, Heather, 30something, and I, 35, have been married 11 years this June. Been together 13+. We have three awesome kids. Tristen-10, Cheyenne-8, and Wyatt-1. We also have a k-9 entourage of 2 Bassett Hounds and 1 Great Dane (all rescued dogs). Also have some fish to keep us busy. Wife and kids love wheelin' We used to have a '66 vw baja that would take us almost everywhere. We have since graduated to the 88 gw. We moved here from New Orleans July of 2005. We have not been wheelin' for some time. Last october I tried to die from Valley Fever and Pneumonia. That didn't work so I went for a couple of major back surgeries. Still alive but sure can't move much. Once all is better, we will be hitting the trails. We enjoy camping, quads and dirt bikes, cooking out, watching movies, and just hanging out. The occasional tasty beverage is nice too. The GW needs some TLC before we can get out there again (carb and tranny). It just so happens that I have some time on my hands now, just can't move. OOOOH the irony. We look forward to meeting some of the great people that we keep reading about in the forums. Also look forward to being on some of those rescue missions. The HELPING END of the rescue missions!

I am 33 and my wife is 30. I have a boy(9) from a previous marraige. We are expecting a baby girl on Sept. 6th. My boy and I love playing sports and to camp and be outdoors. My wife likes going to our cabin and loves sports! Our front room is done up like a sports bar with an Oak bar, poker table, TVs on the wall and pics/signage abound. Several months after the baby is born we will have an East Siders B-B-Q for VJCers.....

She can hang out with my wife and we can go wheel! Seems like a lot of wives aren't big fans of the jeep.

Just got back from celebrating our 3rd anniversary. We got married in Bisbee and honeymooned in the Chiricahuas. We made it a goal to go back there every year for our anniversary. So far so good!

Steve, my husband, and I have been together for over 27 years, but finally decided to get married a few years back.

So... anyway, no kids, but we do have 5 4x4s, including a 1954 Willys 4x4 Station Wagon. Four of them are diesel (the Willys, Scout II, 2 Dodge Cummins trucks). The last one (1966 Dodge W200 Power Wagon) will eventually get that way.

Hi all, I am Greg (48) married to Denise(not telling her age), we have 5children, 3 boys and 2 girls. The oldest boy,Aaron was called to heaven almost twelve years ago. The others are Chad-28, Kaycie-24, Krystal-19, Cody-17. The oldest 3 are my wifes from her 1st marriage, the younger ones are mine from 1st marriage. Denise and I have been together 11years, married 4 years. Just Cody lives at home now. I am native to Az, grew up in Tempe when it still had a lot of farm lands. My wife is from Michigan, the Grandledge area. We enjoy camping, dinner theater, wheeling, fishing, playing cards, and cook-outs with friends. Probably more but I tend to forget alot. Our cat (Kitkat) disappeared in November, we really miss it, Our dog Freckles, is a border collie/queensland healer mix, great dog, we think she is 12 years old.

My wife and I got married this summer, I'm 23 and she's 20 (yeah, I know, we're young).

My wife tolerates my jeep addiction but she does like to camp. We both like plays and things like that, and have a pretty decent home library started.

Ok not married, but might as well be I'm 31 she's 22 I have 2 kids from the ex, Shane 10 and Mackenzie 7. Shane is my little Wheelin and hunting buddy. Get this Washed out section of hill Jeep starts spinning all 4 tires and hopping, left rear catches traction and nearly flipped us. When we got to the top of the hill I start removing seat material from my backside, and Shane looks at me with this crazy grin on his face and says "lets do that again dad" He was 5 at the time. I was so proud.

But anyway. We like to do the BBQ and drinks and games thing. Hunting, fishing, camping, dirt bikes and quads, hiking, and it was her idea for me to start looking for a Jeep and get back into 4-wheelin.

She loves wheelin, we prefer exploring more than rocks but it's AZ so there's gonna be rocks.

I'm just an all around newbie! Newly-wed (Sept 24th) New to the forum (Just got my 1st jeep in Oct) and am new to this forum.

I'm 26 and my wife is 25. We have 2 sons, 6 and 7. And we have another one on the way.

She's not too fond of the whole wheelin' idea. But she did come with me through Mingus Mountain. That was my first, "real trail". At least, the first one that felt "real" to me. haha.

Other than wheeling, we spend a lot of time playing games with our boys and doing church stuff. We try to see a movie every once in a while. That's about it.

April and I have been together pushing 16 years now. 3 kids, 15,13,and 10. I just turned 40 and she 35. Oldest is a boy...God help us. Other 2 are girls...God help any boys that even look at them.

I fish, and play poker on a regular basis, therefore I lie, but only about fishin' & poker. I pride myself in being honest and straight forward and have no skeletons in my closet. While I'm not proud of everything I've ever done, I have no problem talking about myself and my past mistakes.
Have had quads in the past and really enjoyed the adventures we had wheelin' those. I have been in Arizona since '75, so there's not too much of it that I haven't seen. I love Arizona.
I've become a bit of a handgun junkie as of late. Need to tone that down so we can dump even more into April's Junk. Hope to have my own Junk within a year or so.

April keeps her plate pretty full. She is the reason I wake up every morning. In my book, they don't make pedestals high enough for me to put her on.
She works full time and is close to earning her BA and then plans to pursue her Masters. She mtn bikes almost every week, she is a great photographer, and now she's a Jeeper too. She's a hell of a gal, and she tolerates me.

Hey everyone

My wife and I have been married 5 years now and have 1 child (one in the oven too). I love to rock crawl, but sold my crawler for a more "Expidition" style vehicle which is what she enjoys. Our son (2 years old now) love the outdoors and going wheeling with us. I hope to get back into the rock crawling again, but that will come later. Camping, Exploring, and family trips are our priority.

We also enjoy inexpensive entertainment; outdoors, board games, and just visiting places.

Just FYI, I joined this forum because of this topic (family stuff) and the HAM radio threads. Nice to meet all of you.

Just found this forum section, figured I would ring in...

Happily married (Ellie) with Twin girls just turned 13, I need lots of guns now, and 2 Jack Russell Terriers.

They are not really into camping, mostly shopping :P.. But they are up for it sometimes.

Would be interested in meeting other families with kids around same age for bowling, BBQs, horse riding, etc.... maybe a Family camping trip before it gets too hot..

We are in the Chandler/Gilbert area..

Is it just me, or does it seem that 'Jeepers' mariages seems to last a while ?

Guess off roading is theraputic :)

Married for 20 something years (would have to ask the wife exactly how long and when the Ann. date is - I forgot!)

11 year old girl
9 year old girl
2 year old boy (The Boss)

Maybe the same qualities inherent in jeepers are the same ones required to make a marriage last? The willingness to maintain and improve a trail battered vehicle. The flexibility and patience to put up with a supremely unpractical mode of transportation. the determination to take the road less traveled and pick the hardest line. the resourcefulness to repair a broken rig on the trail.

or maybe it's because when we can't stand the other we can go out in the garage and work on it.

together 8 married 4. No kids = more money for jeep

I'm 34 and Val (lil red jeep) is 32. We've been married for almost 3 years, been together for 7. I have a 12 year old daughter form a previous marriage. She is into camping and wheeling, but I can see boys on the horizon....guess its time to buy that gun. Val and I love to get out of the city any chance we can. Both originally from the cesspool to the west of us. Thank God our parents had enough sense to move here. So we both spent the majority of our lives in AZ. Anytime someone is up for a camping trip, trial ride or road trip, shoot us an e-mail. If we have enough headtime, we are always game.
