BLM Route Inventory
Table Mesa Area
Need comments in a trail by trail format. They can all be on one sheet.
? What is special about this trail?
? Why is it important to you?
? What benefits do you get from this trail?
? Special features or memories
? Remember to include the routes in to and out of the trail.
I will (with help) supply all the required route numbers for both the in, out, and the trail.
1. Armageddon (I have GPS for this)
2. Lost World (I have GPS for this)
3. Matrix (I have GPS for this)
4. 6th Day (I have GPS for this)
5. Judgment Day (I have GPS for this)
6. Lower Terminator (I have GPS for this)
7. Upper Terminator (I have GPS for this Thanks Stu)
8. Anaconda
9. Annihilator
10. Predator (I have GPS for this)
11. Raw Deal (I have GPS for this Thanks Stu)
12. Die Hard (I have GPS for this Thanks Stu)
13. Collateral Damage
14. Twisted
If anyone has a GPS track file for the trails I am missing please save me some time and send it to me. As far as the discussion of if we should summit all of these to the BLM they were all permitted at the last Jamboree in the area so they are already submitted. If we do not submit them now they will assume we do not want them. If nobody has the files I will go out and get them.
Please e-mail the files to me. hackle@cox.net
Anyone interested in helping with the route numbers grab a C/D at the meeting they will have the BLM maps in PDF format we can break up the work. We need this done in the next couple weeks so we can send the info to the AZOHVC who is putting together a travel management plan to submit and to get the info out so we have plenty of time to drum up everyone sending in the comment forms. We need to flood them with comments about keeping our trails.
Thanks Jim F.
BTW the meeting is informative and an open house format so it is quick.

Jim,
Although those trails may have been permitted on the last Jamboree, none of them were acknowledged on the map Sandee on I were working on tonight... I just figured it will be easier to grab a CD and to work on it at home...
What I do not understand is how this whole "Inventory" process works or comes to be (I did not get to the meeting until 6:45, so I missed the intro)... I spend 1/2 my time on "rock crawling trails (3.5 or less)" and the other 1/2 exploring old mine roads. My new favorite is the back way to Tip Top through Packer, etc... It is an established road that has seen some recent traffic. So how is this road not "In Inventory (it was not on the map)", what happens to it if it is not inventoried in this process???
Isn't Raw Deal on State Trust Land???
This ought to be interesting...

None as in not one of those listed? Those are the well known ones. That is not even all of them.

They were all broken some had starts but not complete (Sandee was drawing them in off her own maps), and ALL of them were marked as "ATV" trails, not Technical 4wd OHV, Moderate 4wd, etc...

We gave them all that info for all those trails. They ran them and suposedly mapped everything that has tracks. How they come up missing is fishy at best. I gave them some track files 4 years ago on this area. They still get lost. All the info we turn in now will be in the format they use and we will get a written transmittal of what we turn in. This way they can be held accountable. I agree most the work will be easier at home that is why I left early. I hope this info helps. It is also why we need to check everything.

I am sure some developer already has Table Mesa Estates complete with waterfront properties starting in the $1m range already drawn up just waiting for OHV and the likes to go away...
This thread deserves a "Sticky"...

I have the anaconda trail mapped on my garmin GPS. I can email that to you tonight Jim when I get home. When do we have to get all this info back to them? I am going to the meetings tonight and tomorrow so if you want me to take any files out to them at the meetings let me know and I can pick them up from you before I leave.
Thanks,
Ben
*edit: nevermind, I just read above where you said we submit this to AZOHVC in the next couple weeks. I'll get the anaconda GPS trail emailed to you today though.

You're absolutely correct that they were not on the maps. That's why WE ALL need to be involved in this. Almost 4 years ago they did this same process following a route inventory. At that time they asked us to identify our trails not on the inventory. We did............ probably 3 times. They managed to lose this data each time. This time the AZOHVC has a method they cannot "lose" anything. The Coalition is also working at putting ALL YOUR information into a Transportation Plan that they will be unable to ignore.
I believe we covered everything on the map last night but now we need to do the same thing to allow the info to get to the Coalition. Identifying trails/routes from the DVD is a great way to concrete the data for our side........ go for it.
Get information to Jim, myself or any Coalition board member. AZVJC is a Charter Member of the AZOHVC. Let YOUR VOICE be heard!

After the meeting I was thinking only of the Rock Crawling trails. I need to add that I need track files for anything in the area that we use. IE Tip Top, Crown King, and Tincan Alley. We need to submitt all these trails. Again e-mail the files to me at hackle@cox.net
If you do not have GPS for a trail in the area post up a trail name nce we remind them someone else may have the file once you bring up the name.

I just now sent to you the gps files for anaconda and crownking. Hopefully in a file format that works.
Thanks,
Ben
