My turn for a question......The clutch on my 92 XJ's A/C is about 95% out....it locks up every now and then to the point of almost shredding a belt. How difficult is this to do yourself and where is the best place to get the parts?
I know from experience some companies A/C compressors require special tools (available at your local Snap-On truck) to remove and install them. I'm not familiar with Jeep's A/C clutches.

Thanks in advance for the advice..... and funny comments that I know is sure to come from this group some way, some how

If it is anything like the one in my 97 TJ it is very simple. I can't remember the details but I had to remove my pulley off to replace the bearing. I think it involved a wrench or two and a jaw-type puller. You can probably find a replacement pulley/clutch at AMC salvage in Glendale or the U-Pull it yards on Broadway usually have a few XJ's. It would probably be helpful to find a list of all vehicles that use that specific pump.
