I have a 95yj w/4.10 gears but the housing is bad. Now I have a chance to pick up a d35c w/4.10s from a 98TJ almost complete. What is missing is the brakes and drums. My question is will my brakes from my axle swap over to complete the other one? I know that all the bracketry needs to be removed and replaced etc. Will the brakelines connect up as well as the brake calibers and drums and if not what will need to be done to make it compatible? Or would it be to much work and I should just wait until I find an axle and housing from a YJ? I can get this axle for a good price that is why I'm considering it. Thanks, Steve:confused:

Hard to recomend to someone to put a C on a vehicle. Is a 44 swap in the budget?

Going from TJ to YJ is easier than the other way around. How are your welding skills?

Might be able to find a 44 for pretty cheap. Try some of the Hondas, they came with 44's and are about the same width, as well as the standard sources.

I don't know about 4 Wheelers but Desert fab can hook you up with a 44 all the bells and whistles for around 2k, depending on what you have them do.

You might want to consider this one.... From the back of an XJ... I don't know if the spring perches are the same distance appart, but it came from a leaf sprung vehicle.

And its pretty cheap... You will need to re-gear, so that would be an added expense just food for thought.

Nows your chance to upgrade from that Dana 35 Crappo of an axle.

Cost is a problem. Trying to raise a family and start up on business still.

I have someone with welding skills for the perches.

My concerns really from what I see is brakeline connections, calibers, drums. Don't know if I can take them off of my YJ axle and put them on the TJ axle. They have the proper gearing which is what I need since money is tight. Thx

Wrong gearing. I would like to swap to a much stronger axle but it can not happen for awhile. Hopefully I can get the business rolling so that we are not reliant on a tight budget.

Look at EBAY and Craigslist or a junkyard for a D44 at least. I honesly would not waste cash on a D35. Especially if you have 35" tires.

I did have a d44 to be installed but dont have the cash to regear it. When I go to do a true axle swap I am redoing all gears upgrading both axles/shafts, etc. I will do what I can to bullet proof them when the time comes. Just unfortunately not right now. When the time comes it will be done right and professionally.;)

I know this sounds hard, but I would save my cash for the future upgrades.:( I would not throw a dime at a D35.

Meanwhile I have no Jeep and haven't had one for 6months. No can do. All I am trying to do is find out if the Drums/Calipers/Brakelines from my YJ axle will work on the TJ axle that is it. I know what needs to be done but that is for the future and it is not in the cards now.
