Went to Blockbuster tonight and the parking was full, I mean I drove around and there was 1 spot left, nahhh...too hard to park the truck in it, so I park it next to the section of cars, legally, kinda like parking it on the side of a roundabout (imagin more parking spaces around that). Went in, and as I walk out I see this small Ford Ranger backing up (his perpendicular to the truck)...and backing up...and eeeecrrrrrr...he skids his rear bumper on my front bumper:rolleyes: Well I keep walking towards him at the same pace, shaking my keys so he sees me and he pulls forward a few feet then gets out, his dad?gets out as well from the passenger side. Young kid, on permit most likely. Well they look freaked out like they hit the president's car or something so I go up to my bumper and, spreading my arms the lenght of it, say "oh man you f(censored) my whole bumper!!!!" Lol the kid was about to drop dead scared:D ... but I quickly turned around and said "just kidding, you guys have a good night" Lmao the dad totally looked surprised the-what?-face perfectly showing. "are you sure?" he said so I replied ya it's already mess up anyway; "thank you that's so cool *cool-knuckle-hit-exchange* " "bad stuff happens(really it does, look at me I'm French), 'night". As I walk around to get in the truck I hear him say to his son "You're so lucky." Well he is lucky, experiencing is one of the best ways to learn how to drive (I'm expecting heat from u guys on this:D).
Lesson learned: My truck's a freaking collision magnet, wether I'm in it or not.

Good deal on not being a jerk. Good people are few and far between. I had a young girl hit my old truck sending the receiver hitch through her hood and she got out crying thinking i was gonna yell. I told her that it sucks and there was no damage so i wasnt gonna even ask her info. she looked like she jsut won the lottery dispite the 2" square hole in the hood.

Yeah, when you have existing damage it's a lot easier to be cool about it. I was driving around one day and had to stop for a construction worker to walk across a street with some plywood, just as I stopped a little Ford Escort wagon nailed my rear receiver. I got out, looked at my hitch (no discernible damage), looked at her front clip (pretty much totaled). She's going on about not having insurance and I just looked at her and said 'Hey, you're the one who's got all the damage', got in the Jeep and drove away...

In this case I would have stayed for the cops. There's no excuse for her to be on the road without insurance. In the end I too would have went my merry way but not after the cop wrote her a ticket for not having insurance.
And Frenchy, that was pretty cool of you... yeah, you're still French, but I guess even the French can be cool every now and then. :D Now, I wouldn't get within 50 yds of any vehicle that you're in, let alone driving.

That's funny neal, I would do the same thing though. :D
When I ended up hittng that person a couple months ago, I had no damage, and they old couple I hit were surprised i wasn't fileing anyhting on my vehicle.
I bet that kid was (pg13 edit)ing bricks when he realized he had hit you, and his dad was prolly yelling at him for screwing up, luckily my permit days my dad just took a nap and said don't crash, I learned pretty quick how to do such, then about totaled my Honda accord 2 weeks after I got my licence. LOL
Learned quick there.

I was back in Mass. around Christmas time when the car in front of me stopped short. I basically rolled into him but caused a small scratch on his bumper. We pulled over, the older gentleman new i was scared $&*tless, looked at his bumper looked at me and said, "have a nice holiday" got back in his car and drove away.
There are nice people out there, I guess what comes around goes around.

The first one was the second day I owned the truck:D Got rear ended(not my fault), we pulled over on the side of the freeway and got out. He was in his mid 20s and apologizing like crazy. He hit the hitch, imagine the front of his car:eek: , and bent my wiring holder/cracked the 7pinreceiver. Although the truck was in my name I was still waiting for the owner to receive his check so I called the cops to have everything on file just in case the truck's previous owner tried cancelling the deal. While waiting we talked for a bit, he was "" so I called off highway patrol and told him I'll check how much it will be to fix, giving the option not to use his insurance. We exchanged info and went our way. Few weeks later the truck was fixed, paid by his insurance, was just a little too much for out of his own pocket but at least I was nice enough to give him the option. Now u know:p
