ALERT !!!!

Well, following a couple of years of down time within the Cave Creek Ranger District (FR42 area) they have finally reached a point they need OUR HELP.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

Tues, May 1
7:00 p.m.
Cave Creek Ranger District

Contact meeting for volunteers to form and work within a "FRIENDS OF CAVE CREEK" partnership to get this area back into responsible recreation.

We realize everyone cannot make ALL meetings and many would rather be involved in actual on the ground projects rather than the actual "planning" but for this first meeting it would be very beneficial if as many ideas as possible could join at the table for this first meeting. The ATV groups as well as the bike groups will also be invited but I know this is an important area for 4x4's so your help would be appreciated.

Please RSVP Sandee if you can make it to this first meeting.

Where are all those OHV recreationists that consistantly ask "when is FR42 going to open"??????

We need YOU to join in. Please mark your calendar for May 1 at 7:00 p.m.

If WE don't step up to the table and put our money where our mouth is we LOSE. FS can just as easily close this entire area to OHV use.

Once again............... a handful of YOUR fellow recreationists cannot do it all. We recognize everyone cannot or will not do everything but everyone does have to do something to support their sport. By attending this first meeting does not require or mean everyone has to dedicate once a month to a planning meeting........ it does however help a planning team to recognize who and where the contacts are for speciality jobs or volunteers.

Don't be the cause of losing this area............... Environmentalists will love YOU.

Not a bit.................. a lot of pre-planning, signing, and general work has already been done. FS will be looking to us for How, Where and When to implement the new area for recreation. Planning for staging areas, as an example, has changed simply because of the new push regarding limited vehicles on any staging area or trail regarding DUST. Instead of one or two large staging areas we now need to plan for numerous smaller ones........... information and signing will need to go with this. The area is planned to be fenced and gated so these plans have to proceed. Jeff Gursh, from ATR, has spent massive hours doing GPS identification of destroyed routes from the fire and/or rains; he has connected some trails or re-made trails already. The Friends group will be asked for ideas of how to implement all this info.

So you're sure that meeting is happening? I was at the station this morning (good day to bike ride:D) and whoever worked there had not much clue about a meeting next week, he also mentioned a meeting being postponed (don't know if it's the same one or not).

Just checked and the Friends of Cave Creek meeting IS ON for 7:00 p.m. at the Cave Creek Ranger Office at Cave Creek and Bartlett Rd.
