92 yj 2.5
OK so my slave cylinder went out on me, so I took it to a shop and they told my that the leaking clutch fluid soaked my clutch and ruined my clutch plate and throw out bearing or something like that and I haft to replace it all. Dose this sound correct? I don't want to buy parts I don't need. Info please

Yep, sounds right to me. In fact, with my 94 YJ, the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder are sold together as one unit part. On older models they are separate, but I don't know when selling them as one part started. Even if your slave cylinder was the only part needing replacement, you would most likely want the clutch and throwout bearing replaced since you are paying for the labor anyway, and with it being a 92, if the clutch hasn't been replaced before, it was probably getting close for replacement. I just changed out my master cylinder/slave cylinder, clutch and throwout bearing at 183,000 miles.

I will do that, and my clutch was brand new, only 3-4 thousand miles on it.
had the tranny replaced a couple of months ago. Thanks

Guess I have to ask...was your clutch working OK, other than the leaking fluid?
Not sure how yours is set up, but if you can replace the clutch master/slave without much effort then I would do so. THEN I see how it drives. If you have issues with a slipping clutch or whining throw out bearing then those too will have to be replaced. But check first.
Clutch and TOB are some tuff units.

I've told this story a million times it seems but I'm always happy to share if it'll save anyone some money. The same thing happened to me on my YJ. I had a clutch replaced only to have the internal clutch slave cylinder leak all over and ruin the new clutch. Double labor to have it replaced again. So I replaced the slave cylinder and clutch and days later the master cylinder sprung a leak all over the drivers side floor and firewall. Someone told me if your Jeep is older, you want to replace the slave, master and the clutch at the same time. Otherwise, the increased pressure from the new parts might blow the old part you didn't replace. Do it all at the same time and save yourself the hassle and expense of double part replacement. It costs more up front but less in the long run.
