I called them challenged the other day over at a couple's home we are friends with and he is a teacher. Apparently the new "pc" term is "resource children". I don't get it, I didn't see anything wrong with "special needs" or "gifted" which is the most recent after "mentally challenged"....next week it will probably change again...

I agree with PC. My cousin has a baby which is half black and half white. Back in the day it was called something else - the last I knew it was "mixed" - but recently I was corrected and told I must say "bi-racial". Hey, I'm 1/4 sweedish 1/4 czech and 1/2 scotts irish and I don't ask to be called bi-racial. You literally have to go on google and look up the new terms just so that you don't offend someone, and even if you use the new term it still offends someone ---- whatever happened to people just realizing your intentions weren't mean and shutting up about it?


I totally agree with you on all this. The whole Bi-Race thing has me in over my head too. I'm Irish, scottish, danish, english, greman, and indian(feathers not dots) so what doens that make me. I always said I was a mutt. How else should I put it? Multi-national? That's what we call it over here when you go out on patrol with the romainians or aussies or Iraqies. That's multi-national. So what's next? I have found that most of the people who complain about things being PC arn't very PC them selves. I could go on but I don't want to start anything about racisim or anything here. That is for a different time and a much different place.


And yes I have lots more, having grown up in more then one country and many diffeent states, I have seen almost everything. PC or not, this planet will never get along no matter what you do or say or even don't do or say. You cannot please all the people all the time. I have a hard enough time not pissing off at least one person a day. What is a guy like me to do? Waiting for a response from anyone to help me out here!

I'm not even go near that thread. I already know I will only be stiring the pot so I'm leaving that one all alone. I don't want my finger prints any where near that train wreak. Seeing how I am totally un-PC and a gun owner and in the military adn everything else, I am much better just sitting on the side and letting that one play itself out.

ok heres the deal (resource children)the word resource is used to describe what these children GENERATE... resources, more money, gov.funding... see they arent the resource they generate it.. more so then the "normal kids"

Amber, Yes I am late as usual, I am known as the slow kid that laughts at all the jokes 10 hours later in the roc on crawlers fourm. But I am AF Security Forces imbedded with the 258th raoc (yes from AZ) at LSA Adder Iraq. I am working an MP Mission here to free up more Army to do good things to bad people. At home I am a small arms weapons instructor at Luke. I know the Florance Range very well. We use it 2 maybe 3 times a year to fire the 240B and 249's since I don't have the range to do it at Luke. Nice place and great layout.

SWEET, I scored a 92 and have been told similar many times!!! 20 years AF and retired before heading overseas again, guess I was just ready to settle.

I have a cousin that is almost completely deaf, but he hears just enough that when he was small, everyone thought he was "special", it is amazing the names people came up with to avoid the word retarded!! The best was Mentally inefficient.......and that was from a doctor.
It would be nice if they just quit looking for ways to brand people

Well if you haven't met anyone in a real field enviroment then you are talking to the wrong people. Us AF Cops do nothing but train the same way you do. We do the whole tent thing all the time. GP's and sometinme without tents. Our training and deployments are nothing like the rest of the AF. We train like 11B's do. Field Infintry, Convoys, Urban Warfair. All the fun stuff. Hence why we are now being tasked by the Army to come and help them more. As for being spoiled, I will agree with that but this place has uson the short end. The Army's accomidations are by far better then the AF. We are still in tents while the Army guys and girls are in trailers. 2 to a room is far better then 6 to a tent.

I am amazed there is an occupational skill in the airforce just for contracting hotels....amazing. We contract tents....space heaters....air evaps....not hotels normally!

Your not too far off on that one. Services are a bunch of gripers to begin with. They are the cooks, mwr, and lodging people who don't like getting dirty. As AF Cops we are known as Security Forces. You know them as MP's. Same idea, different place.

Yeah they usually are. Other then the fact they give me my one hot a day when we play in the field, I don't much care for them either.
