My friend and I removed my battery off the 97 Intruder 800 a few weeks back to charge it. Now I can't find the right side battery compartment bolt.

If anyone here rides an Intruder, can you let me know what size it is.

Thanks.

You mean .800 ;)

Nah it's cool, got it figured out. but of course again in true Jamie fashion, it sounds as if the starter is bad. Just making the ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound.

Actually I drive a Goldwing 1800.

Damn man, we gotta ride sometime after mine is back up and running. It's not the battery that is the issue, it is something else, starter or alternator or something of that sort.

It's all that rice oil, oh wait I drive a Honda now, never mind.

Bike batteries are pretty worthless as far as useful life. I keep mine on a tender when not using the bike.

I assume the bike is not under warrenty? Too bad you live on the wrong side of the tracks. ;)

I have it on a solar cell tender. Worked well and actually thought that became my problem but I see it is now something else.

Leave my tracks alone. Would never be able to make it to work in 20 minutes or less (to employee parking) if I lived on your side. :p

Jamie,
Is your starter making a noise like its trying to work? i.e. a spinning noise? (the zzzzzzz noise didn't translate for me). If you haven't been riding it for a bit, your starter may be working, but your your selenoid plunger may be sticking. If the selenoid plunger doesn't move the starter gear out, it will just sit and whirrrrr.... You may find that a good whack or to to the selenoid may free it up. Once that selenoid moves out your starter will engage the gear and turn your scooter over. It may be a cheap fix for ya. Congrats on getting your locker. That's a BIG step for you and well deserved.

Good luck, the riding weather has been great.
