Ya. Felt like I was stopping on ice.
About 5:38ish I was going down the hill (alone in car), got a sunglare (bad time bad place), couldn't see the brake lights ahead (let alone not much of the car). It was for a very short time but enough it was too late. Rear ended a Chrysler Pacifica as it was stopping for the red light. I was not speeding, even the police report says so after checking the skid marks. They cited me for *failure to control speed to avoid a collision*.
Funny, as we (my parents had showed up) started leaving, a passing car nearly rear ended someone 10ft away from our accident.
The second day of owning the truck I got rear ended. Same thing happened to the guy, sunglare. Now I know how he feels.
Chit, maybe I'll get a job I have to drive south/north, not west/east.

How did the Pacifica do?

Like newly engineered vehicles, it did its job.
Two adults were in it and two kids. They seemed fine, but the type you can't talk to and have constructed sentences without them yelling at you. They even left right after they were done with the cops. No words nada, I can't beleive they didn't wait for the fire department to check them. I did.
Notice how pushed in the rear is vs the bumper itself.

That sucks Neal, at least the fix will be covered by insurance.
Looks like you fared much better then the pacifica, not usually the case in rear-end accidents.
When I hit that couple about a month ago, I was going about 35, but I didn't recieve any damage(that I could see)

Sorry Neal, didn't mean to bring you down. I had this happen to me when I was young, telephone pole jumped out and smacked me, road ended before I could get my Pontiac stopped...... That was back before everyone was going 60 in a 35. When I drive my GMC Sierra 4x4, I always take a little extra care, especially when I can't see what's going on up the road. It's all physics, mass and momentum.
On that note, wish me luck driving my 7000 pound truck with my 5000 pound Jeep attached to Moab this Saturday....

I had to totally learn to drive again when I got my Dodge, now I leave a LARGE gap between me and the car in front of me. That is untill a ****ing jerk cuts me off to get into that gap!
Did your airbag pop?

Didn't know it took a mile for them to stop...learned the hard way. The airbags didn't pop....Is the sensor under the front of the hood? 'cause if that's where it's at mine is just dangling there:eek:

Ouch. I can relate. I had a 4-Runner attack my Avalanche. It's no fun going through that. The 4Runner did its job to- Are the headlights suppose go over the tires? LOL $10k to the yota and $3k to the Chevy. Lucky It wasn't the YJ...
