The heavy one....28.5lbs, xtr rear, lx crank, lx shifters, Hayes hydraulic brakes, Bomber fork, Manitou rear shock with lockout, Forte wheels....
I bought the whole thing minus the wheels for $200:eek: It's fast downhills, uphill isn't too bad, the suspension works great counteracting the pedaling.

The light one I built, 21.5lbs, soon to get lighter after replacing the heavy***crank and pedals. Single speed Forte brand, Forte carbon handlebar, carbon headset spacers, Forte brakes/levers, the frame is also Performance brand, Mavic wheels with XT hubs, light weight Maxxis tires with light Slime tubes, s10 fork (was free:D), WTB seat with Bontrager seatpost. Once I can find the little pins where the front brakes bolt into I'll go ride it.

And with all the cr@p that's usually in the back of the truck and towing a trailer, there's still room for bikes:D

I guess so lol....It's defenitely not a high end frame but feels nice on the trail. The frame has seen only about a week of trail riding from the previous owner.

How does the single speed work out on the trails?
My old ProFlex weighs probably about 28.5 lbs. A little heavy, but pretty tough. I bet the foam dampener is rotted by now...

Don't know yet, won't go out 'till I get the front brake installed (missing parts), on the streets it feels agile and the gearing makes it a great commuter bike( I have yet to bike to work tho). Should be a fast and fun bike at McDowell park.
Proflex are cool bikes, the dampener shouldn;t be hard to replace

Yeah...that Weyless was Supergo's imitation (strait copy) of the Santa Cruz Superlight. Not *****ing about it...I almost bought one, but got the "real deal' instead.
My superlight is also in that 28lb neighborhood, but it's my light bike! It's a great all day bike, but you can definitely feel it get twitchy at speed and on the DH. Even the choppy tuff out on the pemberton Loop (riding it CCW) will throw that bike off-line pretty easy.
Hmmm...hard tail, single speed. You must be young! ;-) Makes my back hurt and eyeballs fuzzy just looking at it!
Am riding Hawes tomorrow morning. Meet 8AM at the Power/Thomas Walgreens if anyone's interested. Between my out-of-shape self, and huffing the 37lb Bullitt around, it will be a pretty casual pace.
Tom
ps. A Proflex (and Squeak), eh Barry? I think that was one of the first full susp bikes I'd seen on the trail. A guy I used to ride a lot with bought an 856...had that Girvin front fork (also elastomer) on it.

Anyone remember the OLD Lawwill (sp) leader fork ?
I still have somewhere a ROck Sox MAG21 SL (ouuuuuuuuu ,, ahhhhh) pretty golden legs with a long travel kit (3" over all).......
Never could fault the old Rock Shox JUDY ..( stupid exploding cartriges)
WORST fork I've ever owner is the Manitiou Mach 5... I had a skewer stack pop out ant hit me in the face on Hawes a LOOONG time ago... The fixed it by theading a Manitou EBC cap into the Mach 5 stanctions

Try a SS 29er, totally different animal.

I've toyed with being masochistic and buying one of those inexpensive Redline 29", SS, full rigid bikes just to try out.
But man...I think I know better!
Judy's??? Seems to me those were the most over rated fork of all time. Sticky, flexy, leaky, caps shooting off...expensive. But heck, I was running a Quadra 21R back then before seeing the light and buying my first Marzocchi. And to think, back then I intentionally opted for the Z2 as I thought the 4" travel of the Z1 was too much (this would have been on my Voodoo full susp)!
Well, that Z2 is now on an old hard tail. The Voodoo frame is broken. The Superlight has an old 4" Z1 and the Bullit has a 5" QR20.
Dust them things off, Jeff!!!
