Hehehe! Yeah, for a leaf sprung carbureted rig, that one was pretty capable.
The only thing that held it back was the guy driving! :D

Not sure exactly what you mean, but those were all the same Jeep, just in different stages of it's metamorphasis. BTW, the grille is the ONLY thing that made it from the original Jeep all the way to the Blue buggy.
The Brown Jeep (CJ-7) has a completely different history.

If Joe West is paying attention, I remember wheeling with him on Axle Alley. He had EVERYTHING on that TJ (Except a blender, otherwise we'd have been making Margaritas!) I think he broke a front shaft, but I'm not sure... At any rate, fun was had by all, but mostly me... :D
I think in one of those pics you can see DougB, one of the original "Dirty Half Dozen" that started the AZVJC... Matter of fact, I think you can see his back in the Parker Photos and his white TJ also..

I'm paying attention... I remember Axle Alley... but I don't remember what broke that trip, I thought it was just a flat tire but over the years I broke enough things that I don't recall them all. It is one of the reasons I carried so much crap; I hate not having what I need (and more).
Your Jeep was at the blue painted stage on the first run I went on with you... it was broken arrow and you broke your right rear axle shaft. I still have pictures of us fixing it on the trail.
Good memories...
Awesome pictures Bill... thanks for sharing.

I don't know... he just kinda dissapeared from wheeling.
Allot of the people who we started out with and wheeled with in the "Early Days" aren't around. :(
It's been a while since I heard from Len Sullivan, Scott Kruize, Bob Trenton, Joe Clark and Bruce Browell.
It's hard not to think of Joe Clark and Bob Trenton when I run trails like Raw Deal, Judgement Day, and Gila Monster (The one at Table Mesa).
Chris Lewis, the guy in the camo jacket at the top of the last obstacle on Axle Alley doesn't wheel anymore.
Ross Skinner still has a Jeep... I think an LJ... I still keep in touch with him, but I haven't been out wheelin with him in a long time. He's just into the forest exploratory mode, I guess..
BTW, Ross' son is busy becoming a Navy SEAL

I started shaving my head before all this Jeepin' Stuff!
Hell, Charles Barkley took the fashion cue from ME!!!
(Hell is not a cuss word, I checked! :D )
Ohh, and if you don't know who Charles Barkley is... (NO he doesn't sing "Crazy"!) Look up some Phoenix Suns history.

Talked to him today, he's the IT guy at the Payson Hospital now...
Maybe we should get together for a run or something? The timing couldn't be better with it warming up...
Bill (Antman) invited me up. I'm thinking I really need to slow down a little and get my butt (I checked, Butt is not a dirty word!!) up there! :D
Ross has been asking me about getting together anyway. Might as well make it an off roading trip!
