Don't get ahead of your self on this one. I just want to know if anyone has ever built a 4.0 stroker. Basicly what I have here is the chance to get an older 4.0 straght 6 and some other parts and I was thinking about taking the time to build a 4.8 or 5.0 stroker out of it. Any advice or suggestions?

I THINK....most people build a 4.6 stroker with the 4.0.

Here is a good info site. It's some where to start.

Biggest you can go with out major issues is 4.7L We have a kit through Gen-Right that will provide all the parts.. You still have to deck/hone the block..

Thank you guys. That's excatly what I was looking for. But why is it that you have to stop at 4.7L? What are the majoy issues I will have to contend with? Dave, what would the price of that Gen-Right kit run? Thanks again.

Cylinder walls probably start to get too thin, if I remember correctly just adding the crank from a 4.2 will net you 4.5 liters, then boring .030" over nets 4.6, .060" over is the 4.7, no?
To maintain cylinder wall strength and integrity, don't wanna punch them out too thin.

Dave, how much and what does it come with. I am needing to rebuild mine here real fast. But lucky for me I have a good block sitting in the back still, so I won't have much down time. I am wanting a good performing motor with good reliability, so not too many ponies.
