Well, I got to have some fun this past weekend. I went on a camping trip out in the Kofa's with another couple. They were driving a 1ton 4wd Ford van/camper and I had "Barbie" (97 tj)
The trails were probably no more than a 2.5 in the worst places, but I got to do a variety of trail types. I got an education in going using my gears to control decents, choosing a line over rocks, etc I even got to drive thru puddles (dont see much of those out this way).
We took the King road to the Kofa mine. We then took Engesser pass road and turned onto the Hoodoo wash trail. We ended our first day at the Wilbanks cabin, the remains of an old cattle ranch.
We sat around a campfire under a beautiful night sky, weather was great. Not to cold or windy. The next morning we took Wilbanks out to the Kofa monument, Kofa Cabin and finally to the powerline road. We hit highway 95 about 1, and I was home by 3:30
If you are interested, all those trails are described in the book "Backcountry adventures " by Massey and Wilson
I put some photos here:
