Picking up a rear D44 for the Xj and would like to hear views on a locker for it.
I have narrowed it down to an ARB, Ox Locker, or Eaton ELocker. Will be adding 4.56 gears and no locker to the front. Hope fully this will gain some of my power back after the 32 inch tire install. Thanks Lyle

For a comparison of all the lockers/limit slips take a look at this months JP magazine that just came out.
As for my personal opinion I'm a big ARB fan. Ox is just as good but you'll have to find a way to run the cable/shifter into your XJ. Personally I engage and disengage my front locker relatively quickly on the trail sometimes on the same obstacle in situations such as when I have to turn full lock around a s-turn or something. I do this mainly to say u-joints. Anyway, being able to quickly flip a switch with my finger is convenient.
Especially since this is your rear axle which can stay locked for most of the trail the convenience (that I like) of the ARB's button isn't as much of a concern.
I've never liked the Eaton locker personally.

DD? If so, and you can afford it, a selectable is the way to go. Heard good and bad about ALL lockers. I think more people hear about ARBs not engaging just because of the amount of people running them. I think maintenence is a big part of the problem. A different approach would be a Detroit, but they are almost as much $$$ as the Ox or ARB, just no buttons or cables to worry about.

Ive never had any issues with ARB's and putting 2 in the XJ Im building now
most failures re caused by TOO HIGH OF AIR PRESSURE or 2 low.

I will be going to a front locker later, just rebuilding the d44 before it gets put in. Its not a dd but I like the ability to turn the locker off in certain trail condition.
