What can I say......Accept, MAN am I extremely pleased with my new gears Joe put in for me a couple week ago!!! WOW....night and day difference.
I did a WHOLE bunch of research on this whole regearing topic, as most of us only want to do it once.
The Jeep - "05" LJ Rubicon with a few mods....
Tires- 33" MTR's....well, specifically 285's
Engine- the good ole 4.0
Tranny - 4 speed Auto.....yea I know....but I'm a lazy driver...
The gears- 5:13 Yukons

End result COMPLETLY AWESome
I'm still in a strict breakin procedure, heat up/cool down cycles, a couple hundred miles to go, and then we get to play off road and see how they work with the 4:1 transfer case.
Joe did an excellent job, and if your thinkin about gears talk to the man!!!!

I'm glad to hear you got hooked up with Joe and got the gears done Mike. You gotta be feeling like a race car with the 513s and 33s. My Jeep moves better now with the 513s and bias 35s then it did with the 33s and 410s. Even with my tires weighing 113 lbs a peice, my jeep moves way faster and it even seems to change gears at better points. No sluggish gear changes like before. I know i'm happy. Only 435 miles and a gear oil change before i can wheel. I can't wait. :D Cya on the trail soon Mike.

Congratulations! Another 5:13 rubicon. Those are definately the gears to go with if you have a rubicon regardless what tire size your running.... Joe put them in my jeep and at the time I was running some worn 285's that were really more like 31" sized. You'll love the crawl ratio in 1st gear 4-lo with those tires... it will seem like the jeeps in front of you on the trail are going 90mph in comparison. It'll crawl anywhere now ;)
