He is talking about a ZJ, a little more involved than on a TJ. I
think you can fold the lip of the wheel well over fairly easily.
This will give you some extra clearance. I have seen people trim
the very front of the rear wheel well for extra clearance as the
tire rotates into droop. Any more trimming will most likely get
you up into the inner fenders. You may want to talk to a body
shop.
Ask on JU in the Grand Cherokee forum and you may find more real
knowledge than I can give you.

Robert,

The Florence Junction, Box Canyon, Martinez Canyon area is almost completely
state and federal land, with a little private land sprinkled around. To the
best of my knowledge access to the Federal land does not require a permit.
You can get a permit for the state land on the spot at the State Land
Department. I've been out there several times and never seen a posting, so
your best bet is to have a permit. Wish I could join you.

I'll help. We definitely want to get that out of there. If it was
stolen and abandoned there, then I don't feel that reflects on us
wheelers. But if some wheeler left it there, then it does. In either
case, there's no telling what others (gov't agancies, greenies, general
public) might think so we need to get that out of there ASAP.

We probably should report it and, if it is stolen, move it out of
Martinez Canyon to some point where the insurance company or BLM or
whoever can get to it.

If the JU guys want to donate money, let's take it and then send it to
the ASA4WDC or the Blue Ribbon Coalition or some other related charity.

You can do it with very litle inside wheel well trimming if you run
33x9.50s on the stock wheels, but don't take it on ay trails! Any wider
of a tire and you will have to lift it at least to 4.5". I think 6" is
more like it for 33" tires. The added lift gives the tires some place to
go.

I once read a hypothetical story about archeologists that do a dig on human civilization 1000 years from now, and they figure out that we must have worshipped the God of BudLight because his symbol is every where. Sad, but true in way. Not the legacy I wouldlike to leave behind.
