Time to plan a ride?

Since I'm bringing it up, I'll throw out an invite to join me this weekend for a Hawes ride. How about Saturday morning?

I usually park at the Walgreens on Power/Thomas. Then ride up to the "top" of the trail network by going thru Las Sendas...nice couple miles of easy pavement pedalling to warm up.

Time? 8AM? 9AM???

Recommend being an advanced beginner (oxymoron?) to intermediate level rider for this trail. I don't think it's very technical, but much more than a canal ride!

Bring water, helmet, gloves and working bike...hey, this sounds like a Jeep run requirements! Pack a spare tube.

Minimum ride length is ~8-10mi, I usually put in ~12-14 with some of the extra (more fun!) loops out there.

I wish I was in shape and had the time, I'd be there without a second thought. Some fun trails and good scenery there. I plan on getting back into shape here in the near future, so maybe in a month or two.. I hope.

"In shape"...what's that???

This ride, as you both know by the sounds of it, isn't 'that hard' physically. Especially the route I go. None of the big climbs, some decent downhill coasting, and mostly rollers. Yeah...it completely exhausts me, but could be a lot worse!

I'm pretty slow on the flats/climbs right now. I just seem to be able (willing?) to let go of the brakes more and hang on better when the trail points downhill than most...so that's the only thing keeping me somewhat "respectable"! ;-)
