I want to try and exercise the search engine to see if we can break things on the new archive forum.
If you get a chance, perform a search in the archives forum on the word "kruize" without the quotes.

I came up with 953 pages with kruize in it.
works great.

I realize this had to be a monumental task but it looks like when I did my search that it came up with the "digest" which had maybe 20 emails on each. With 248 pages in my search result I had to wade thru 15-18 emails that were not related to find one that was, is it possible sometime in the future to get the post individaully and maybe with a subject I also noticed if you put a word of less than 4 letters (CJ, YJ, TJ, XJ, ZJ etc) you get an error.......can this be fixed ?

We broke the archive into groups of 20-25 posts each to ease the pain of converting the archives... doing posts one at a time (the optimum solution) would have taken 25 times longer... and if you figure Mark has already invested close to 20 hours... you can imagine how much time it would take to do the posts individually.
What you can do is use control-f once you do your search, and let your browser search inside each group of 25 posts to obtain the exact information you want. I know that this is a bit of a pain, but it was the only resonable solution.
As far as the minimum search length, it is something I can control but I don't want to change it because it will increase the size of our database DRAMATICALLY... instead of having to keep track of words with 4 letters or more... it would have to keep track of words with 2 letters or more in the index that it builds. This would slow down the search engine and increase the size of our database... in other words; not an easy change without me investing in significantly more infrastructure.
Kind Regards,
Joe

I understand much better now but it would be so much easier to searh for a tech question on say brakes for a specific model by using the CJ, TJ, XJ, ZJ, etc (I had to sort thru tons of stuff on all the models I was NOT interested in and finally gave up after 45 min) the search than to get every post that had brakes in the subject. Going forward can could stuff be put on here from Yahoo individually or will it still be in blocks of 25 ?

Moving forward... I'll leave the archive block size to the moderator since he is doing all the work. Would you be willing to help with the posting to the archive in groups of one if we can get you a script to automate it? If you have the time and are willing to help out, we could certainly do it as you suggest since it is the optimum solution.
Let me know...
Kind Regards,
Joe
