Here is the text. I hit enter to soon. :-)
Hi all I am looking for a cheap (trashed ok) YJ rear seat to modify
in to child seat holder. XJ rear axle d35 or 8.25 or whatever not a
big deal in good useable shape with 3.55 gears in the $100.00
neighborhood. Nice set of YJ carpet in the light tan/ivory type color
or even just some pieces front, right rear wheelwell. Any nice center
counsel for a YJ in either sahara greenish or tannish color. Color
not a big deal if cheap enough I will dye it. Also always looking for
nice stock alloys from newer Jeeps. Not the 5 spoke with Jeep in the
spoke unless real cheap.

Gary Oglesby is leading a South End White Tanks Area trail run on Sunday, March 3, 2002.
When: 2:00pm
Where: Meet @ Williams Truck Stop on 99th Ave. Just south of I-10
Rating: 2.0+
Length: 4-5 hours

Exploring the area. Up to about 2.5 trail rating. I have a stock jeep, anyone that wants to come along and do more than that feel free. Anyone that's been to the area before would also be greatly appreciated!!! Hope to get into the sand out there.
The South end of the White Tanks has a variety of trails for exploration. Cutting through the top is an old powerline trail that goes from the old Catapillar test track all the way out to the Hassayampa Riverbed.
There are also numerous washes to explore, the furthure up the washes you go the tougher they get. There are a variety of side trails and hill climbs to try as well as a large hill of sand left over from when they were building I-10.
Some of the Named Trails in the area include:
Appetizer
Firebird
Tax Collector

Subject: [TR] Coke Ovens - Saturday, March 9, 2002 - Reminder
Hello All,
Mike Acuna is leading a Coke Ovens trail run on Saturday, March 9, 2002.
When: Saturday March 9, 2002
Where: Meet at the Texaco just past Florence Junction at 9:00am
Rating: 2.5+
Length: 4-6 hours
CB Channel: 4
We've always wanted to check out the Coke Ovens, but haven't yet.
We've been through Box Canyon up to Martinez Cabin and are pretty
sure we can find it. We have a GPS and a guide book too. If someone
signs up who wants to lead that would be cool too. We would like
to run Box Canyon to Coke Ovens.....then if there is still time
we would like to run Battleaxe out to AZ177.
The Coke Ovens Trail is an all day trip. It covers a lot of different countryside, traveling over and around the rolling hills and traverse some rocks and ledges in the road.
Years ago the Coke Ovens were built to support some of the smelters at the nearby mines. It's a fairly common misconception that they made coke, which is made from coal. However, they were built to make charcoal from the then more plentiful mesquite of the Gila Valley.
Over the years they have been closed to the public numerous times and several have been used as "housing" for the hermits of the hills. At one point (so the story goes) an owner attempted to convert them into a type of tourist resort - and started to make rooms out of them. You can still see the lofts he installed in some of them. This project was never finished.
At this time we are able to see and explore these amazing creations. They are located on the side of a hill along the Gila River and are quite spectacular.
Across the Gila is the old town site of Chochran. If the water is low, there is a river crossing to the west of Chochran that can be taken for an exit out to the Florence-Kelvin Highway
This trail is definitely a favorite for all levels of 4-wheelers. Stock vehicles shouldn't have any problems although clearance is highly recommended. There are several areas of "rock stair steps" that will be a challenge to the novice or stock driver.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Subject: Hub seperated while going 50 down tatum.. need advise..
Hey guys... I had a little incident yesterday on tatum... My passenger side hub COMPLETLEY SEPERATED, sending my tire into traffic, and me straight into the ground.... It tore part of my knuckle off, my brake line, rotor & calliper. The jeep slid about 150 ft. and I was able to control it, and get it to the right side of the road....
The fun part... fixing this problem...
When I landed on my axle housing, where the knuckle attaches, the bolt was ground completly off, and is flush... Giving the apperance that there is no bolt on the underside of the knuckle to take off, or put back on for that matter... It looks as tho this is not replacable, without either replacing my front end (no im not getting a bigger one, i cant afford it) or the old knuckle on the axle housing side, needs to be cut off, and welded back on. Can anyone shed some light onto this little situation? I'll have pics of the bad hub and whatnot when im done fixing this... This is my daily driver, and I would appreciate any help I can get.

Subject: [TR] Trip Report - FR-42 - Saturday, March 2, 2002
Hello All,
Brian Ferrell lead a trail run Saturday, March 2, 2002 across FR-42
After a miscommunication with departure time, Gary straightened me out, then we were off and having fun. There were 8 Jeeps total,Ernie in his black YJ,Greg in his 90 YJ,Eric in his really cool"51",Gary in his 91 YJ,Ron in his 75 CJ-5,Gary in his 78 Cherokee Chief,Dave in a very clean and capable 83 CJ-7 and me(Brian) in my 99 TJ.
I think Greg in his 90 YJ, stock except for tires, used this run to see what mods. are comming on his ride. Ron with his 75 CJ-5 open front &; rear looked like he was having the most fun on the hills. He showed what a difference a skilled driver can make.
At the intersection of 42 and 532 the group split up. Some went on to Horseshoe the rest went south to the blacktop.
I had a blast "with a motorcycle,if you were there you know what I mean" I hope everyone else did too "not with a motorcycle". Another good run for the AZVJC, I hope to see everyone again soon, til then happy trails.

Factory hub or an aftermarket conversion?
In addition I would take alot of long, very detailed looks at every
other weld, mount, etc on the front end. With the forces from weight
of the jeep and the speed of the impact all on that front end, you
have a good chance of something else either cracked or broken.
As far as the knuckle, you might be able to have a new one welded on,
but 1) you gotta find one which means finding an axle in good shape
that someone is willing to part with only the knuckle, 2) make sure
the new one is welded on really well, 3) try and figure out what
caused it so you can avoid it happening again.

4 tires - 2 of them are nearly new, the third has about 50% tread and the fourth about 25% tread. They are mounted and balanced on Gambler style aluminum rims (15x8 - 5 on 4.5) with 4" of back spacing.
The rims have seen a bit of trail use so they're stratched and brused, but fully functional. A fifth rim is free. It has a dent in the rim but is perfectly functional for a spare.

The hub was OEM... It seperated due to neglect on my part i believe... I
have had a new hub here for a week or so to put on that side, because i
replaced the other side alwready... But I havnt had time to do it... I
didnt think that the hub was in THAT bad of shape... The way it looks to me
is, that it has been getting hairline fractures for a while now... So it
was just bound to happen... I am going to go out and check the welds...
There isnt much more i can do today it looks like...

I've been going to AZ since I was 6 years old at least twice a year, summer
and winter. I've never had a problem with the heat and don't figure that the
people that live there stay indoors all summer. That gives me the edge on
having twice as much fun as some I guess, just like going to Crown King and
feeling the cool breeze in the Pines.

There are also numerous washes to explore, the furthure up the washes you go the tougher they get. There are a variety of side trails and hill climbs to try as well as a large hill of sand left over from when they were building I-10.
Some of the Named Trails in the area include:

Thanks!

150 ft. and I was able to control it, and get it to the right side of
the road....

that there is no bolt on the underside of the knuckle to take off, or
put back on for that matter... It looks as tho this is not
replacable, without either replacing my front end (no im not getting
a bigger one, i cant afford it) or the old knuckle on the axle
housing side, needs to be cut off, and welded back on. Can anyone
shed some light onto this little situation? I'll have pics of the
bad hub and whatnot when im done fixing this... This is my daily
driver, and I would appreciate any help I can get.

Well in all fairness, Bill Witt was the first to respond to my posting, so to Bill they go. In the event this falls through I will post again. Thanks,
