I guess if you are a yahoo regular you would know this. I hope I am
not the only idiot out there, but it took me about 10 minutes ot go
through the whole azvjc.org site to find that I just couldn't find
it.
If you want to vote in the polls you need to do it through the yahoo
groups web site. That is where it is.
Hope this help someone else out and I am not telling EVERYONE

There are several polls that were started yesterday. Be sure to vote in each one.

I think she, the jeep not the girlfriend, needs some bigger tires and I will love her all the more.

I have changed my opinions to some extent. I think this club is
fantastic the way it is and at first I thought that making it Inc. would
be a good idea. After reading the emails I have changed.
I think that leaving the club the same would be best.
I also think what Doug is saying is a good idea also.
Taking it one step further is to have a place some where to signify that
that member is participating in ASA and/or United. This will bring to
front who and who is not a member.
My vote would be to keep the club the same, and actually enhance it by
adding the other things.

Thanks Mike for the clarification/info. Also, I'd like to thank you for
trying to suggest an option. Certainly has generated a bit of
discussion,
which is good and healthy. Also, a great big thanks for all the work
you've
done on the web site. Really appreciated!
On the surface, the 'shadow' group you describe may not change the
spirit or
function of the group, but I think there's concern that it could lead to
more onerous aspects of a real organization. But, as you indicated
previously, this could be dealt with by very tight by-laws not allowing
the
thing to get beyond a mechanism for "official" participation and
recognition
by ASA.
A couple of alternative suggestions/ideas:
- Generate an automatic message that goes out to new members who
subscribe
to the club to point out some of the basics behind AzVJC (founding
concept,
Tread Lightly, no spam, etc.), and at the same time encourage individual
participation in ASA and United, with links to both. Not mess with pay
pal,
but leave that up to individuals. I'd be happy to draft a sample we
could
discuss on line.
- Put links on the web sites to ASA and United, and possibly other info
sources like the Blue Ribbon Coalition. Again...leave contributions up
to
individuals.
- Generate regular membership drives on the list to encourage
participation/dues in these orgs. (I'd be happy to do this)
- Info on permits w/ links to BLM and State Trust (if such permit links
exist).
Just some thoughts...and thanks again for all your efforts.

The ASA4WDC is a business, whether you want to admit it or not. Sure
they do a lot of good, but that doesn't stop a business from doing well.
Of course they want the AZVJC, it's the largest group in AZ. They want
the #'s to help their cause, good. But that also gives them control and
helps their business. I know I got burned on this last time, but lets
face reality. There is always an ulterior motive that serves and
individual's personal goals.
This does exclude mike and Doug. These guys see the sport at it's

Hmmm, things change, eh? I've been the webmaster for what almost 2
years? And the group moderator for about a year? What things have you
seen change other than added features (OPTIONS) to the website? Could I
be abusive with my powers? You bet I could, but I am not. I have not
once removed a member from either the list or the website without THEM
asking me to do so. So you see someone already is in "position of
authority" as you put it.
Once again let me reiterate, this is about an OPTION pure and simple. If
you think that by not voluntarily paying dues, that this means that
you're not part of the AzVJC then by the same token if you're not using
every single feature of the AzVJC website you're not part of the AzVJC.

Subject: Thank you and questions
Thanks to those who gave their input regarding a good
rear bumper/tire carrier for my XJ. I have placed my
order (Tomken) and should have it in a week.
I would say I have one more bug to work out, but we
know that would be less than truthful. However, I do
have my next chore waiting on me.
I have a 3" SkyJacker lift on my jeep. After the lift
I tried to have the front end alignment done, but no
one can get it right.
Currently, the vehicle pulls to the right and is
noticeably worse under braking. The vehicle is my
daily driver and is sometimes used to transport the
family, so I need it to stop straight just in case. I
have seen the posts for Joe (FlexxyXJ) so that will be
my next stop, but I have a few questions.
One of the shops I went to said the problem was due to
my track bar. We tried it with the relo bracket and
it moved it too far, the stock location (of course) is
also off center. His advice was to get an adjustable
trackbar and then the alignment would be good.
Does the adjustable trackbar and a good alignment
diagnosis coincide with my symptoms?
Who makes a good adj. Trackbar? Where is the best
place to pick one up?
(Sorry I should have kept the email) could someone
provide me the contact info for Joe's shop?
Thanks in advance to all.

Hey Dave, Bite me!
I was asking a simple question. It's poorly thought remarks such as
the one you just posted that will begin to give people a negative
impression of members of this "UnOrganized" Club. Big Mouths like
yourself, who don't have the correct answer but feel the need to
interject there opinions all the time are truly a pain in the ***. I
thought I remembered a post a while back that you were leaving...Then
Take off!! What gives? Don't let the door hit ya in the *** on the
way out!!
Why is it when someone asks a simple question, you always get some
clown who already monoplizes most of the post space, feeling the need
to post? Are you related to Al Gore?

My official vote is a strong "NO" ... N.... O....
I may be speaking out of turn being that I've only joined within the
past month or two, but was really amazed with this site. DON'T RUIN A
GOOD THING!!!
If one site is being paid for and the other is not...hmm... gee... i
wonder... ONE IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED!!!
You say we can make this easy and use PayPal... well, what about the
people that don't pay anything over the Internet. I made one exception
myself, and bought the club stickers, but that will be my first and last
purchase over the Internet.
If you want an organized club, do it completely separate from this one -
ABSOLUTELY NO LINK TO THIS ONE... YOU HAVE A "PERFECT" CLUB ALREADY!!!

Doug

The ASA4WDC is a business, whether you want to admit it or not. Sure
they do a lot of good, but that doesn't stop a business from doing well.
Of course they want the AZVJC, it's the largest group in AZ. They want
the #'s to help their cause, good. But that also gives them control and
helps their business. I know I got burned on this last time, but lets
face reality. There is always an ulterior motive that serves and
individual's personal goals.
This does exclude mike and Doug. These guys see the sport at it's
purest.

My point once again is that this IS NOT ABOUT CHANGING THE AZVJC. It is
about GIVING AZVJC MEMBERS the OPTION to join ASA4WDC, United and get a
State Land Use Permit at a DISCOUNTED price ($5 off).
My freaking goodness people, you're acting like we're going to come in
your house and put a meter on your computer and charge you everytime you
hit the AzVJC website.

And I have yet to see your Rig in the Whoops section. ;)

Why is it when someone asks a simple question, you always get some

I read EVERYONE of them EVERYDAY. I just was tired of having 200+ e-
mails if I didn't check my e-mail over the weekend.

In Mike's defense, I'm sure he wouldn't do that.
