I am helping my buddy instal some lowering springs on his 06 accord. I know, should be shunned upon, but we need help. I got the pinch bolt out of the fork, the three nuts off the top of the strut, but I can't get the strut assembly to drop out. Do I need to take off the rotor as well? In addition to the three nuts on the top of the strut, there is a center bolt as well, does that need to be taken off? Were at a loss. Thanks.

Seeing as how I can see it, I wonder if the spring force is holding it in place. Does the strut need to be compressed?

Yu dont need to take the center bolt off...
you need to take the two bolts holding the lower portion of the strut to the nuckle
undo the 3 bolts on the top mount..
with some wiggling force or a mallet tap the trust off the knuckle... Torward the engine compartment.... AWAY FROM YOU
it should drop out..
ALSO when removing the spring from the strut.. BE VERY CAREFUL AS THE SPRING IS UNDER TENSION AND WHEN THAT BIG 18 MM bolt is loosened enough to come off high chance of the spring SHOOTING off like rocket.. they make a tool called a mcPherson spring compress tool to avoid that from happening
but its simple
have fun good luck

Thanks guys. Yea, I have done it a few years back on a SN95 stang, and that was completely different. I finally figured it out. Thanks
