It has been abused in a D-35 for 3 years.Last weekend it starting popping and now does not engage correctly.Assuming that the side gears/couplers are not fractured or cracked, could I add shims to the side gears and be O.K.The carrier is not cracked,I re-installed the OEM side/spider gears and have not had a problem. YES, I know,Time for a Detroit and an 8.8

Anybody have any idea why this quick loc locker is not working anymore?
Are the teeth squared off still (tops and sides) or do they show wear and are now rounded off? Are the pins still in on piece and are the springs still in one piece also? Basically the pins are alignment guides, the springs provide tension to hold the locker together and not disengage and the squareness of the teeth bear the load. If the springs have lost tensions and the teeth are still in good shape, you can replace the springs and off you go... My last two Lock Rights (traditional and no slip) both came with spare sets of springs for "rebuild" time...
There is also a go / no-go measurement that I do not know for a D35, but if this measurment is too great then the carrier needs replacing as there would not be enough tension from the springs. Like if the case was on the high side of the tolerance initially and now has wore some more your locker will not stay engaged new springs or not... Might want to give them a call (don't know if you have a Lock Right, Detroit, or Australia unit) and find out what this measurement is and see what has actually gone awry... They can also give you the free standing height of the springs to see if they have lost tension and shortened up, etc...
Good luck,

I got rid of mine after it ate the carrier and in turn it ate itself. Went to a detroit. The lockers are kick *** but the problem is the stock carrier. The stock carrier is to week and I would suggest replaceing it with a stronger one. Which is the reason of getting the locker in the first place, not messing with the carrier and ring gear.

The teeth are showing lots of wear. I did replace the pins and springs with the new ones, still it did not help. I am going to throw it in the TRASH. Thanks for your input.
