Nick,
Get longer shocks. If they are still using the same shock, they only
have 10"s of travel. You saw my TJ w/ long arms on Raw Deal. I can
twist it up enough to use all 14"s of travel on my Ranchos. You'll
need to extend the bumpstop bases down and add limiting straps to
keep the springs from falling out from all the flex that is available
when the shocks aren't topping out. Don't forget to relocate the
brake lines, too. Mine still aren't long enough.

still have another 6 or so inches to the top of that rock, and as you
can see, my driver side front tires is off the ground by about 3"!!!
What is wrong here? The anti-rock sway bar is even disconnected! I
do have rear sway bars, with the extensions... and I run the provided
Old Man EMU Nitro shocks that come with the new lift kit. Any ideas
as so why this baby isn't on top of my house by now? I am kind of
disappointed.

I've seen quite a bit in here about putting together CO2 tanks as
well as a couple of bumpers outfitted to hold compressed air. Has
anyone combined the 2. I'm thinking about having a bumper built and
am wondering about the feasability of eqipping it as a CO2 tank as
well. Looking for some inputs/insights as well as first hand
knowledge if any.

Well, if you get in an accident, the Co2 will explode in a bumper....

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty happy about this so I figured I'd share this with the group... I
made the last payment on my Jeep today so, for the first time since I've had
my rig; it is really mine.

CO2 cylinders are rated and inspected for the pressure they hold. I would
doubt you could find a place to get it filled. Probably against the law.

C'mon guys...papa smurf wore a red hat, all the other smurfs wore
white hats. Perhaps Chris could be jokey smurf instead? <grin>

You guys really need to polish up on your smurf trivia.

Now for 100 bonus points, who knows the name of Gargamel's cat?

I have seen pictures on this sight of alot of Jeeps. I see exactly
none with any dirt on them. I don't think in Arizona the dirt sticks
to your Jeeps, or someone is stretching the truth about washing and
waxing. After ten years of setting under a cover my faded CJ5 needed
at least one wax job, and I look forward to seeing if I can get any
Arizona dirt to stick to it, I didn't have any problem with Northwest
mud sticking to my other rigs so from what I have seen from the
pictures I may have my work cut out for me.

Subject: Re: Headlight

If this is for a TJ.... (here is the solution I know of)

-------------------------
Hello James,
Ok, here is the list of parts you will need to find. Hella makes
a 7" round headlamp lens with an H4 bulb. The part # is 70476. This
headlamp comes with a Hella bulb but for the most part it is junk. I
would recommend replacing it with a PIAA H4 Xtreme White bulb. This
part number from PIAA is 15260. I would believe that your best
source locally for these products would be Desert Rat. I am not sure
if they are the best price. On a side note the PIAA bulbs are not
DOT approved but do duplicate the look of HID. Same goes for the
reflector (Not DOT approved). Let me know how it goes. If you do
decide to stick with the Hella headlamp and bulbs let me know as I
throw away brand new bulb frequently.

Hope this Helps

I hope this helps.

Subject: High Idle problems

Hey guys,

I'm at my wits end and I need some additional guidance before I head
to a garage.

Here's the situation: As the engine heats up, the idle increases from
apprx 1000 to more than 2000 rpm. It's been having problems with high
idle for awhile, typically running at 1K when in drive and jumping to
1500 in Park or neutral.

This is what I've got: 88XJ, I6, auto, 118K miles

What I've done: removed and cleaned throttle body, and replaced
gasket; replaced TPS, IAC valve and O2 sensor; tuned up (new
plugs/wires/cap and rotor; checked harness for shorts from all
sensors to terminal box at firewall; replaced all vacuum lines; and
I've tested the CTS resistance (~1.5 ohms).

Any suggestions or the name of a decent garage in Tucson.

TIA,
Tim

(I've also posted to AZXJ, sorry if you get the double)

Subject: Water Wetter

Hi All

I am planning on flushing my radiator (in my 95 XJ) since at the end of last summer it was running a little warm. I was considering adding a product called Water Wetter to the antifreeze when I refill it. I have heard it is supposed to help the engine run cooler.

Has anyone used it and do you where I can find it?

TIA

Randy

Mike,

NOT. CO2 is incapable of supporting combustion.
