Subject: Please Help Urgent
Does anyone have access to a machine that I can get mine hooked up to
that won't cost me an arm and a leg(out of work right now so cost is
very important)?
I have a 97 4 banger, the codes come up 12, 14 and 43.
12 - Direct Battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50
Key-on cycles. Not sure how this one applies since the battery has
not been disconnected in months.
14 - MAP sensor input above or below acceptable voltage, 5 volt
output to MAP sensor open.
43 - Peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum dwell
time. Misfire detected in one or more cylinders 1 thru 6(4and 6
cyls.). This one is obvious as it does misfire and backfire.
Please let me know what you think and if you know someone that is not
going to bend me over a barrel to hook it up to a machine.
Thanks
Chris

Ok I have had some personal expeirence with this issue (Those of you that
know well enough, you know I speak from alot of it.) The Arizona Revised
Statue book says that every vehicle must be equipped with a safty glass DOT
approved windsheild. Now, from there, it be up to to argue that you have a
windsheild on, just not up. I was cited, (after a year and half with out one
all toghter, and it was 90 dollar ticket.) Mind you, I NEVER HAD windsheild
and most offciers didnt notice, or didnt know that you had to have one. It
is a obscure ARS code, but it is in the book. Make sure you have glasses.
If you got aticket with your windshield down, I bet you could still fight
it in court. Becuase techincally, you have a DOT approved windshelid. The
statue says nothing about it being in place. But do wear saftey glasses.
The one cop who gave me my ticket was 30 year officer for the DPS. I think
that the simple act of just driving my Big Ugly (My Tan Rock Buggy) on his
freeway just pissed him off.
Hope this helps. And yes. I am haveing a DOT approved windsheild made for
the Buggy.. for cold weather he he

I am going to take a guess tha the shocks are holding you up. That system
you should felx just as much if not more. Old Man Emu shocks are great But
I am not aware fo them makeing long travle shocks. Try takingthem off/or
unbolting them and running it again. Goodluck.

That part of the Verde is crossable, but you need someone to walk it or
prod with a stick. There are large holes, but easily maneuvered around.

Greg,
How was the trip? Were you able to cross the Verde at Childs? I tried to
do this same trip a few years ago in the reverse direction and couldn't
cross the river. Even with 5 extra gallons of gas, I was running on
fumes when I finally made it back out to a gas station.
Dugas to Childs is a very scenic trip, too. To do it as a one-way trip,
you need to get a rancher to open his gate and find someone at the
Childs power plant to open 2 gates and escort you through the plant.
There is a hill that is nearly impassable if there is snow on it. It
took 6 hours to move 2 vehicles(1 with a winch) a half mile through the
only snow covered section of narrow road on the side of a steep
mountain.

Jayke,
ARB compressors are KNOWN garbage. Dump it in the trash and get a
QuickAirII or III and you'll probably not have any more issues. If you can;
take it back to where you got it and get them to give you a refund. If you
are really adventurous; get a York compressor and you'll have the best of
all onboard-air worlds.
Kind Regards,

I am fortunate to have a nice big rock for me to play on when im bored in front of my house! Unfortunately, when I had my old 4.5" RE kit, it could get to the top of this rock without lifting a tire. I still have another 6 or so inches to the top of that rock, and as you can see, my driver side front tires is off the ground by about 3"!!! What is wrong here? The anti-rock sway bar is even disconnected! I do have rear sway bars, with the extensions... and I run the provided Old Man EMU Nitro shocks that come with the new lift kit. Any ideas as so why this baby isn't on top of my house by now? I am kind of disappointed.

Having had, several times, rocks hit the windshield hard enough to crack
it, and in one case a rock large enough to shatter it, while driving
around town and stuff, *why* would anyone want to drive with the
windshield down in town. Off the road, that's different. I drove
motorcycles for years, and for the same reasons would always wear a
helmet with a full face shield. I've had several friends that have been
injured badly on motorcycles, from rocks in the face, chest, head, etc.

They make a long travel shock for TJs (N66L and N67L), but they are for
a 4 ~ 4.5" lift. A lot of people have complained, on various boards,
about why RE offers those for their 5.5 " lift. They are too short.

Are you sure it is split? or did it just roll out?
It's a super easy fix either way, but if it split, you'll have to get a new
o ring. Go see 4Wheeler's supply. They stock about every ARB part you could
want.
BTW, to avoid this from now on, submit your ARB queries directly to me or

A friend of mine just bought a 98 Grand Cherokee and is looking for a pair of the stock driving lights that install in the lower valance. If anyone has any laying around that they want to get rid of or know of a good source besides the dealer let me know and I will pass it on.

I need the dust cover that fits on the differential side of the closed knucle on a D27 Axle. Checker/Napa/Autozone do NOT carry it. The Dealer doesn't manufacturer it, I've called a couple Junk yards with no luck. If some one could direct me to a supplier I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd like to replace with a new one rather than used. This if for a '67 CJ5.

It
took 6 hours to move 2 vehicles(1 with a winch) a half mile through the
only snow covered section of narrow road on the side of a steep
mountain.

ARB compressors are KNOWN garbage. Dump it in the trash and get a
QuickAirII or III and you'll probably not have any more issues. If you can;
take it back to where you got it and get them to give you a refund. If you
are really adventurous; get a York compressor and you'll have the best of
all onboard-air worlds.

Ok now I have a question. Once I get my CB where on my 00 TJ is the best
spot to mount this thing? I am new to the Jeep craze... I had a Bronco that
had more interior space(exterior space too) than I knew what to do with.

I'd get the CB from Radioshack or Fry's Electronics, and get a
Firestick and mounting hardware from CB Exchange on Main in Mesa...
it's just west of Power and right across the street from Filibertos.
He'll tune the Firestick for free if you buy it there! -Rob

Uou guys all crack me up! Chris I checked out your
Jeep and it's identical to mine...finally I've found
another. There are none like ours in Chicago.
Actually they're not identical because mine isn't as
modified as yours and I have a black top. But at
least I've found one the same "Lapis" blue as mine.
Thanks for the funny input guys!
