I saw a flyer at scottsdales' offroad unlimited store saying there was a big crown king run this weekend on saturday. I heard it was 7:30 AM or 8 or something... Can someone tell me about this run... has anyone heared anything about it? Is it still on? Who's going?

Subject: New to this

Hey everybody! I'm a pretty new member of this club and have just
gotten to Arizona to visit my girlfriend (soon to be fiance). I got
in yesterday from Chicago. I'm extremely happy right now because I
drove the 1750 miles here and nothing broke/went wrong with my '97 TJ
Sport with 98500 miles on it. I've done some basic tune-up work on
my Jeep but besides oil changes and some basic interior/exterior mods
(body and 31" All-Terrain Futuras), I know almost nothing about
working on it. I've got a few question to throw out to you
guys/girls so that hopefully I can better understand some things.

First, my oil gauge shows normal (straight in the middle) when I'm
driving, but when I'm stopped and idling it shows to the left about a
quarter off center. I've checked the oil and it's at the correct
level. I don't think I have a leak because I always check under and
around my Jeep before I head out. Any ideas why the gauge displays
like this?

Second, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you on the trails
while I'm here. This'll be my first "real" off-roading experience.
I've hit some basic trails in Wisconsin while camping only because
the only places near Chicago are "off-limits" to off-roading. Anyone
have some basic tips for me before I head out on a trail run?

Lastly, I just want to thank all of you for the posts over the past
few months. They've been very interesting and helpfull in my
learning process and pretty funny at times. Again, I just want to
say I'm happy that I'll be able to meet some of you out on the trails
over the next few weeks.

~Wade
'97 Blue TJ (my friends all say it looks periwinkle but I don't think
so)

P.S. - How can I get a hold of an "AZ VJC" sticker while I'm out here?

Wade,
Welcome to the group. I to am a pretty new member (been on one
run) and your right - this is an "ok" ;-)(lol)group of guys and
gals. As for the oil pressure gauge, this is normal. When at idle
your engine is not working as hard or turning your oil pump as fast
so the pressure drops and the opposite happens when you bring up the
rpm's the opposite happens. You need to worry if the gauge does not
go up at higher rpm's.
As for the sticker, if you go to the main page azvjc.org site you
will see a spot on the right hand side of the page to order stickers
and or a shirt.
Hope to meet you out on a trail soon.

No because every month isn't the 2nd month of the year. The date 20(the
day)/02(the month). I've been told this will never happen again because the
clock only goes to 23:59. The last time it happen was 10/01 at 10:01 in the
year 1001.

I agree with Scott, I've researched the K&N FIPK, Air Aid, Poweraid,
etc. You can find manufacturer's claims, but I have searched the net
high and low for some cold hard facts like dyno test results, and
none can be found. Every article has been based on "seat of the
pants". Best mod I have found (and this is seat of pants as well) is
remove the hard top, full doors, tools, and spare parts. Man you can
really feel the difference ;)

If it's a relatively easy trail, I'll just air down enough to make it more
comfortable. But the harder trails I do, I usually air down to 10 psi w/
SSR's. With my old BFG's about 12 psi was as low as I went. Airing down
increases your traction by significantly increasing your surface patch. It's
also easier on the tires and the kidneys.

On the down side...airing down too much increases the exposure of the side
wall, and increases the chance of popping a bead.

Wrong the next time will be sooner then you think. Then because there is

21/12 21:12 2112, 2002 21/12 20:02 There are probably dozens of
palendromic dates. Just depends on how you want to order them.
