I just finished doing mine and the HD output shaft. My service manual is
very descriptive on how to over hall the D300. This is not a trivial task
and if you do not have to correct tools to do this you will have problems. I
will look at my service manual and let you know which one I have.

Did you also get a rebuild kit? The 4:1 kit does not come with new bearings.
You will need bearing pullers, grinder to grind on the case even though they
claim you do not need to you will to get the intermediate gear set in, dial
indicator and mag base.

OK all you CJ guys (and gals) out there. I just got my Teralow gearset and
the install instructions say:

"Please follow the Dana 300 rebuild instructions in the Jeep service manual"

Um, OK. Now where do I get a Dana 300 service manual or where can I find a
good CJ service manual that might have this info? All I have is the
Chilton's manual that I used when I had a CJ-5 but all it tells you how to
do is remove and replace the tcase and shows you a diagram of all the parts.

Thanks,

Chris,

I have service manual M.R. 252 for CJ's and Scramblers. It has a 16-page
section on the D300 including removal, disassembly and assembly. I would be
happy to copy and fax or mail. Let me know.

I kinda look at it as an added benefit to the group. I've seen a number of 'for sale' items as well as discounts and stuff. So long as it's Jeep related, it's cool, IMO.

Ain't it cool.

There have always been quite a few vendors on with us. In lurk mode mostly. I have in the past posted about needing a part and a vendor responded with a great deal and I had it at my door step in a couple of days.

There is a fairly easy and scenic trail up behind Jerome. You can get
to it by going up through Jerome towards Prescott. You turn off the
hiway about a half mile or so past the last house. It heads up the
hill towards the north and comes back on the north side of Jerome.

Is the issue that these get sent to your inbox or that they get
posted to the site? I do not get anything forwarded to my inbox. I
saw an item that I was interested in and was glad it got posted. I
agree that a vendor site is more appropriate but I am glad to find
out about items for sale that I could use, that is partly why I log

Club,
I am looking for Chevy half ton axles. Prefer Corp 12 bolt and Dana 44. Gears do not matter. Anybody have any laying around? I am looking to get them within the next month or sooner if it is a good deal. Will pay, or possibly trade out work.

Thank you for reading....

When is he gonna fab that harness to carry his jeep under the plane and drop it deep into the colorado mountains with a big parachute on the top?

Anyone have any info on Mr. Ed? I haven't heard anything about him
lately. His website no longer exists either. What's the latest? Just
curious. TIA
