I have to agree with you Joe. Or every once in a while send an e-mail out saying that this is on sale for this time and AZVJC members get it at this price. But this is a lot that they are sending now.

Just my two cents.

OK Now I think this is just a little too much. I do not mind getting info like "AZ_VJC'ers get 10% off at our site" but to send out emails with all of their parts is too much.

Thoughts?

Yeah, as long as they are givng us a good discount it might be OK as long as it doesn't get out of hand and clog up the for sale database. If they are just using us to advertise normal priced stuff, then send them packing.

I didn't get much of a return on my post earlier about moving my rear

have a new idea, I am thinking about purchasing some front TJ seats

some sort or bracket to mount the seats in the rear, anyone out there

OK! Wow!

Because of all the latest, I've added a catagory to the Classifieds
section called "Vendors."

Vendor advertisements will not be sent to the group e-mail, and they
will be listed on their own page so that they won't overrun member's
postings.

Becuase these items won't be sent to the list, I added an e-mail form
vendors can use to let the list know when they have added some
things. It will say something like:

---------------------
Hello AzVJC,
[Vendor Name] has added some items to the AzVJC website classifieds
that may be of interest to you. To view these items, click here.

- The AzVJC Website
---------------------

To the vendors on the list I hope this is a fair arrangement for
you. Feel free to post as many items as you wish, just make sure to
select "Vendors" from the drop down list. And remember all
classifieds expire in 30 days so it is best that the classifieds be
used to promote specials, limited time offers, sales, etc...

Thanks,

- Mike

The only problem I see is that the seat belt attaches to the ront of
the roll bar in the back, so you would probably want to remove them
entirely and get either lap belts, or a couple harnesses, but you
are also putting the rear passengers BEHIND the roll bars... may not
be wise... -Rob

Jason,

If you are going to list stuff for sale, why don't you at least give it a
reasonable price? I mean common $350 for a D300 does it already have the
4:1?
Why don't you list your email address in the ad? Do you have a one way door
on that computer?

Is this posting thing of highly priced used parts 10 times a day going to
continue?

I mean really, I don't mind buying used stuff from group members but, used
stuff from vendors that is twice what it should be. Give me a break.

Be aware of what you are doing, please.

What a locker class Mike, thanks a lot.

I was also considering the Ox Trax, but they are almost twice the
price of a PowerTrax No Slip and about four times the Lock Right.
With the exchange rate at 2.5:1 and a shopping quota of US$ 500.00,
there's not too much I can do.

As I said our realities are too far diferent.

OK all you CJ guys (and gals) out there. I just got my Teralow gearset and

"Please follow the Dana 300 rebuild instructions in the Jeep service manual"

Um, OK. Now where do I get a Dana 300 service manual or where can I find a
good CJ service manual that might have this info? All I have is the
Chilton's manual that I used when I had a CJ-5 but all it tells you how to
do is remove and replace the tcase and shows you a diagram of all the parts.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

ARIZONA ROCK CRAWL

DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND ANYONES CONTROL THE ARIZONA ROCK CRAWL SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 2 & 3 HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

The Arizona Rock Crawlers will host a club weekend this same weekend at the old Jamboree site on the south side of Cottonwood Canyon Rd just before crossing the cattleguard entering BLM lands. (off Hwy 79 between M.P. 144 & 145. ……. Entrance between M.P. 215 & 216 off Hwy 60 is also available for those not wishing to join us at camp and simply watch the "fun on the rocks".

Join us for a chili dinner and campfire on Saturday evening and a "fun rock crawl" on Sunday.

Everyone is invited and those that wish to "play on the rocks" are asked to check in and tech before 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. Everyone participating will still be required to follow ARCA safety rules as stated in the Rock Crawl registration and flyer. We will have unofficial judges to score so everyone can compare "how you did" but there will be no fees or awards.

There were not enough entries to "cover costs" of putting this event on successfully. Also with this the BLM again put the screws to the recreational 4-wheeler. The "pre-permit" with 8 pages of "stipulations" was received Wednesday last week. It is impossible to function under this many rules.

Examples:

Fees included paying 3% of the gross receipts including what vendors or sponsors donate…… shirt values, prize money, vendor sales, plus registration fees, etc……….

Must submit a "parking/traffic plan" to be subject to approval by the BLM.

Must identify parking areas, staffing, flaggers, enforcement, signing, no parking areas, rope off all areas not used, identify off site parking and provide shuttle service to and from parking areas…………………

Cannot "sensationalize" the event….. in other words: cannot advertise or announce it.

Must include hundreds of dollars of "printed information materials" to competitors and spectators.

Must have a huge number of port-a-jons available.

Must allow BLM to "help place course markers" to insure safe cultural site protection.

Last but not least………. They have to "hoot" for Pygmy Owls the week prior to the event. Now remember, this is the same area we are not allowed into to "drive over the rocks" but BLM issued a permit to a landscaper to "Quarry HUGE boulders" from this same area using cranes and huge trucks!

Now to answer some of the questions floating throughout the internet and phone lines:

First of all this event was never an ASA4WDC event. ASA4WDC participation was simply that the Arizona Rock Crawlers is a club within the ASA4WDC and a number of ASA4WDC members were helping by volunteering as judges. ASA4WDC supports all it's clubs activities or events. That does not mean the ASA4WDC is the hosting entity.

The Arizona Rock Crawlers have always been the promoting body and ARCA has always been the sanctioning body. Nothing has ever been changed. Originally the date had been announced as March 16-17 but no paperwork had ever been published with this date. The registration and information form out on ASA4WDC's WEB page and s on ARCA's WEB page has never been changed. The "Sportsman" class has always been offered. It was always portrayed to be the "preliminaries into ARCA Nationals"……… NOT an ARCA Nationals event or level.

ARC apologizes to all of you that felt the entry was misrepresented……….. this event was never intended to "compete" with ARCA. ARCA is trying to initiate local clubs across the country to host "preliminary rock crawls" to offer experience into ARCA Nationals… Obviously there was an oversight in "explaining" that this event was not intended to be ARCA Nationals………..

Had we had a "full slate" of support from the competitors we would have dealt with BLM but the ARC could not "fund" both. With your support we will strive to make this bigger and better in the future. We realize, as does ARCA, that there are huge numbers of "rock crawlers" out there that do not want to compete on the National level. ARCA wants to support "local level rock crawl competitions" for this reason. The local competitions encouraged across the country are not intended to be National level.

A.R.C. apologize to all of you that felt this event was misrepresented……….. we ask for your input and help in making this a successful event in the future!
