All,
I will stick up for Jon. Jon is doing this on a voluntary basis and as a
good gesture to the club. He is not doing this to make money or for any
other reason. Jon along with all of us are probably very busy most of the
time. I know he is not sitting there thinking OK I have 3 orders here but I
think I will make the people wait.
Just my .02 worth.
Keep up the good work Jon.

Whenever the time may be for you to purchase or lease a new vehicle, keep this information in mind. You might want to give more consideration to a car manufactured by an American-owned and /or American based company.
Apart from Hyundai and Volkswagen, the foreign car companies contributed nothing at all to the citizens of the United States. It's OK for these companies to take money out of this country, but it is apparently not acceptable to return some in a time of crisis.

I would like to publicly thank Tom. He had his SuperLift 2.5" for sale and I bought it from him. He also offered to put it in, and me with my schedule lately I had to take him up on it. He did me up very nicely. He not only put the lift in but he also pointed out some very bad things that were wrong with my Jeep CJ7. He fixed all problems and installed the lift all during his wife's birthday, Valentines Day, and his in-laws visiting (well maybe that is why he put so much time into it :-) ) And to top it all off he had to go to the Dr. (and not for anything he hurt on the Jeep, which is why I would have to go) but for Bronchitis.

There are a few things you can check:
1. Steering Stabalizer, if you didn't upgrade yet, start there. They
are only about $40 from a off road shop. Rancho or Pro Comp would be
a nice shock.
2. Get your tires BALANCED and rotated. Contact Rick Beer at
Discount tires on 79th ave and bell, club member there!
3. Get a front end alignment. Contact Joe Daro at Roosevelt
Alignment by Metro Center, club member there too!
Start at number one, and work your way down the list.

I now have a new set of 35" MT/Rs but the rock crawler rims I got

I've found that the U-bolts actually tend to stretch a bit over time.
I've had two cases of death-wobble (on two separate jeeps) because of
this. If you can break the nut free and re-tighten, then do that. But
in my case, the nuts had been in the same position for so long that when
I tried to break it free, I just twisted the U-bolts right off, even
after soaking it in penetrating fluid. So you may have to replace the
U-bolts.

No, I m pretty sure it is IFS. I was looking at that too, but the tires arent at the right angles to be a solid axle. I saw them uip close at the dealer. I honeslty fear the day someone wants a bumper built for one of those........ I dont know about a swap, but I dont think that will be easy either.

Subject: Re: Powertrax No Slip at the front differential
Sidney,
I wheeled in Panama for a few years with a CJ-5 that had a Power-Lock
in the front. While not a true locker like the Powertrax No-Slip, it
was plenty for the mud. If fact sometimes it was too much.
Imagine yourself driving down a steep muddy hill, the road turns, you
turn the wheel and your Jeep continues straight. This happened to me
numerous times with the Powerlock, and (get this) to get it turn
going down hill, I had to step on the gas!
The way the powerlock works is it allows a certain amount of slip,
until the spider gears climb each other, then it locks up. In the
mud going up hills or through bogs this is great, as long as you're
on the gas, the front is locked. When you back of the gas, it
unlocks. On downhills, the opposite is true, when it locks up, it
will remain locked as long as you're using the engine to slow you
down; in order to unlock it you have to either step on the gas a
little (recommended) or push in the clutch (not recommended); as soon
as you do though, it unlocks and you gain steering control.
A true locker (powertrax no slip, detroit, lock-right, etc..) in the
front could prove very dangerous on the slick stuff, especially if
you're wheeling where there are large drop offs. If it is all flat,
mudbogs then a locker would be ok, albiet you'll loose some steering
control.
Also remember with two lockers on a slippery sidehill, you'll always
slide down hill.
I think for mud a locker in the rear and a Powerlock in the front is
a good combo if you don't have the cash for an OX or ARB.
Hope this helps,
- Mike

All,
I will stick up for Jon.

I now have a new set of 35" MT/Rs but the rock crawler rims I got

for a great price and found me a 35" spare. I really appreciate the

Sidney,
I wheeled in Panama for a few years with a CJ-5 that had a Power-Lock
in the front.
Hope this helps,
- Mike

Jon has a new job these days and he is doing a lot more traveling
than he use to. Heck, we can't even get him to go wheeling any more.
I'm sure he'll get to them when he can.
