Two of us ran Upper Terminator today. About half way through, suddenly ahead of us we could see 4-6 workers with hard hats up on the hillside.

We stopped near three of them that were just off the side of the Term trail and chatted. They said that the Black Canyon Trail is getting re-routed due to motorized use on the original trail, and they are building a new route for Non-Motorized, specifically hiking, biking and equestrian.

Heading north on the trail from the access road that is south of Upper Term, the trail comes down into the Upper Term wash and imediately crosses to the north side where it runs up on the hillside parallel to Upper Term for. I think the trail then bends to the north possibly following the Upper Upper Terminator wash.

I just hope we don't start getting complaints from the Non-Motorized trail users regarding the 4WD use down in the wash.

The Black Canyon Trail Partnership has been functioning for going on 3 years. They are very aware of motorized use in this area.............. the reason for specifically breaking off the non-motorized portion. They hired a professional from IMBA (International Mountain Bike Assoc) to do studies for the reroute. They spent weeks doing this in partnership with the motorized group. The original "Black Canyon Trail" was the main road up the hill. Definitely not good for non-motorized. I participated in this group for the first year or so but haven't had time to attend meetings. There are several motorized persons from Black Canyon City that are very involved.
Should they start fussing about the motorized portion we certainly have enough support for our trails to shut them up although I don't believe that will happen.

The portion south of Table Mesa to the Ben Avery Shooting Range along Hwy 74 (?) is totally non-motorized.

Hopefully all motorized (including 4x4; ATV's & bikes) will RESPECT this separate trail to be non-motorized. If OHV push access illegally we will lose our motorized trails. We all are going to be responsible for our own.
