All;
I need the address and phone number of a fabrication shop in the East
valley. I know they're here, I just can't find contact info.
I have a tow bar that I need some end mounts made. These would go on the end
of the tow bar to mount to the front bumper using pins. The Bulletproof
bumper already has 3/4" mounts for the D-rings. I need a "U" shaped mount
made for the tow bar to use the existing bumper mounts.
I'm hoping to have these made in time for a trip this weekend.
Thanks!

I do not think you would have a problem with it. You have a longer wheel
base then my CJ and not as much lift. Even with my short wheel base and 7
1/2" lift it works with room to spare. The reason I am going to a high
pinion is because I just rebuilt my D300 with the 4:1 and HD output shaft. I
am building a new cross member that will stuff the transfer cases cross
member mount level with my frame. My new cross member will be almost flat
across my frame. That will make my drive shaft angel unacceptable.
By the way the Ford 9" high pinion is going to run me over $1100 in pieces.
I will still have to put it together and set it up.

Randy,
I thought about the Ford 9" for the ZJ since later models are set up for
coil suspension (coil perches, LCA bracketry, torque bar mounting) until
Steve told me that those axle models are low-pinion and not good for
SWBs (less than a FS pickup) with a suspension lift. The u-joint angle
would be extreme. The Hi-pinion setup; however, has possibilities.

Interesting! I just got a flyer from the Cooley Advertising agency
(they work with Az State Parks) advertising the rock crawling
competition as being sponsored by the ASA4WDC. No mention of the ARCA at
all. What's going on there?
It's a shame to hear that the competition was called off. I think part
of it is is that the extreme 4-wheelers in Az are too independent to
join forces to help keep good PR coming their way. These competitions do
a lot to legitimize the sport.
Don't know if the exhibition thingy Sandee is planning is a good idea. I
for one won't be out there that weekend!

All the work I've seen done by him has been very good.

Are you going to be hauling your CJ on a trailer? If you don't need highway gearing, I would go as low (numerically high) as I could.....4.56 or more would be great for the trail.

Thanks Stu. I'll probably be driving or towing it most places. It will be a "driver" also. It could see some road miles so I'd like to get 60-65mph. 4:56 gears should be able to do that without to much problem.
