Subject: wave back?, but is anybody...inviting new members?

Date: Sat, 16 Feb 2002 10:01:07 -0600
Wave back is all well and great, but is that ALL?!!I personally made Up a nice little flyer, about the FSJ group, with my name and e mail, and a written invite to potential members. Every time I see FSJ 's weather on the roads, doing errands, going to school, I make sure to keep a stack of Flyers in my Honcho and my Volvo every day. So far at least 5 times this year alone I banged a U turn, to track a person, or followed them, to hand them in person a flyer,( sometimes a wind shield is fine) with a warm big smile, and a friendly greeting, and ask about their FSJ and tell them about the group. Chances are they love to talk about their FSJ!And all of them have seem for the most part very interested about the group and often thank me! Two have people remarked, that it was a great idea. I figured if they did not love their FSJ by now, They would not have k
ept for very long. It's a love/hate thing for sure!So if they are Driving one, chances are, they love it..Some People who drive a FSJ have said, They have never heard of a "FSJ".. "What is a .."FSJ"? ( they get it confused with a XJ).. or "Where can I get some Advice or parts about my wagoneer? Is a Cherokee a FSJ? Not many people know much about them , What Makes , and models, and who made what, and the Quadra trac is confusing for some, but they love it just the same. " I have heard that statement as well. Maybe it reminds them of a bygone era, as it always has for me when I was small boy growing up. I saw the pictures in the all the outdoor Magazines, of the Wagoneer, Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer, with the Canoe on top, and the Camping gear, always ready for the open road and adventure! It was Beautiful! The lines, the grill and real 4x4 Full time drive( at least I thought. hey I was a kid...;) I saw the Wagoneer and it's kind, as the romantic Rugged tough Outdoors type vehicle! I still do today, every time I look at those lines, and the woody sides, complete with luggage rack just waiting to take me away. It's powerful V8, always ready to take me on another adventurous journey into the wilderness where no other humans can be found for hundreds of miles. So hey ..Please get out there and promote the Group! Make friends with FSJ'S!!!Stop, Get out and wave them to come over!!!! Say hello! say.. HI! How are you ?!Start a conversation! Strangers are only friends you have not met!So get out there and DO SOMETHING about it!R.J. I'm absolutely positive that it's not legal to stalk anyone even to
just try and get them to join our club :)

My sucky *** score for the training 101 track is:
Final Score 34069

If you report the forest fire to the rangers you get a winch.
I'll post my score from the next round, if I make it.. it has some huge boulders to climb.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Rick Bier yet again for a
great deal on my new shoes and also thank him for his great customer
service. If anyone is looking to buy new tires and you don't at
least talk to Rick, you are missing an opportunity.

Secondly, I want to thank Scott Kruize for his help in reinforcing my
upper control arm mount today. It had begun to elongate and was
wreaking havoc on the uunderside of my TJ. Some finely sculpted 1/4"
plate by Scott and a great welding job made it better than new. I
also want to thank Scott for painting it black and not purple <grin>.

Thanks to Theresa for a great lunch and the rest of the guys that
lent a hand, you know who you are ;-)

Best Regards,

John Butler

PS: I owe you guys

Ther is already a run for Martinez on the 23rd. You may want to post
at different times. I went up there last week and got behind some
other group and it took quite a while to get through. It is a great
trail but with too many vehicles it can take the fun out of it. Have
a good trip.

I don't like the way the cable runs across the rear floor. That would

One thing I don't get about the picture is why he needs OX lockers

Nope, he has an ARB in the front and an Ox in the back. If you look at
the text, it says that the two front switches are for front ARB and the
ARB compressor.

So minus the c-clips and bigger axle shafts, the D44 is really a D35c for a

other than going to D60's.

James,

Don't forget the difference in ring gear size and pinion size...

The only thing that the chart shows is that AXLE TUBE dimensions are the
same between the D35C and the D44.
EVERYTHING else on the D44 is larger and stronger than the D35 (except for
brakes).

The D44 will always be the better choice than the D35C.

A D44 will always be a better choice than a D35C with a Super 35 kit.

You're conclusion that the Super 35 Kit is a good option for those who have
a D35C is correct, but your logic behind your conclusion is somewhat flawed.

If you have a choice when picking out your Jeep... choose a D44.

If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck with a D35C; upgrade to a Super 35
when you can; I still have yet to hear of someone breaking one.

Kind Regards,

Joe

Higher spline count...which goes with larger axles. And as Scott said, a
bigger and stronger r&p. The only thing the TJ D44 has in common w/ the D35c
is the axle tubes.

Okay the ring & pinion but, over the last year I have been on this board and
others I have yet to hear someone say, their ring & pinion broke or their
carrier. Let me qualify that by saying, from wheeling. I have seen some
where somebody did a crappy install at one time or another. I could have
missed a few posts here and there. As for the brakes, if you are wanting
better brakes you would go with disc no bigger drums.
Joe is correct, if you were buying a new Jeep there is no reason not to get
the D44. But, if you have a D35 there is no reason to upgrade to a TJ D44.
It just doesn't make sense.
