It is my understanding that in this year, 1990, the YJ had either
the AX
series or the BA series (Pugeot) transmission. How can I tell which
one is
in my Jeep? I have heard nothing but evil about the Pugeot
transmission.
Thanks in advance.

Print the web page and take it to the store. Harbor Freight will honor the price. At least the one on ValVista and Southern does.

FYI
After further checking on the harbor freight web site the total cost of the tool to buy online is $42.95 sounds like it is about the same as buying it here at the store. The shipping and handling eat up the ten dollar price difference.

I recently came across this idea for mounting my ox shifters after a
post on JU. Take a look at this link where a guy mounted his rear ox
shifter in his cup holder with the use of a home made plate. I am
considering mounting mine in the two cup holders in my TJ console
using a similar but longer plate. Who needs cup holders anyway?

Les,
I think it looks great and is a nice idea for someone who doesn't use their
cup holders... I use mine all the time so I'd find another spot... but it
sure looks like a professional install.

Subject: [TR] Trip Report - FR-42 - Saturday, February 16, 2002
Hello All,
Mike Acuna lead a trail run Saturday, February 16, 2002 across FR-42
What a start, we climbed into the ZJ and my wife said "whats that noise?" It was a broken bolt in my rear trackbar bracket. I put in a new bolt and tightened the trackbar bolt back up. Finally on our way. Bruce and Lisa were waiting for us at 7th st and Carefree Highway to follow us to the lake.
We finally showed up at about 10:30, and everyone was patiently waiting. (yeah right) Here's the list of whom attended.
Me, Karen, Marissa, &; Sabrina-98ZJ
Glenn &; Terrie-CJ?
Bruce &; Lisa-93YJ
Tom &; Chris-88?Grand Wagoneer
Gary G. &; Jane-91YJ
Mike H., Spencer, &; Kirsten-95-YJ
Gary H. &; ?-78WT Cherokee Chief
Lyle-00TJ
Matt &; ?-95ZJ
Lyle volunteered to lead since he has made this run before....this was his 3rd different trip this week. What an awesome day for (4) wheeling. Right off the bat we ran into a s-l-o-w group of Hummers. Gary G. politely told, asked them to move aside and let us by.
On the way by, I noticed they all had dealer plates. Everyone in their group was wearing the proper attire. For a nice dinner outing. Matt said he heard one of them say 10-4 good buddy as we went by. The stop probably gave them a chance to sip on their cappucino's.
I thought I'd flexed my ZJ enough to find the rubbing points of my 32's, but this trail kicked but for that....both rears bottomed out=need extended bump stops...right front bent the top of my fender out=more trimming....front bumper almost fell off=visit John K.
I don't think there was any other carnage except for Matts inner fender well....those RE springs can flexxxx. Matt put those gears in and get a locker. Tom G. got the strap a couple of times=time for a locker. Mike H. got the big air award at least 5ft left front=behind him without a loaded camera.
Gary H. said he ran the entire trail in 2wd? Bruce and Lisa wanted some scenic views, I think they got them. Gary G. got a new friend...Marissa. We ran into an older couple on 4x Polaris atv's. The lady got stuck 3/4 up a hill so we offered to help. He wanted to prove to her
that his winch on quad would save the day. We ran a strap to the back of Glenn's CJ to keep his atv from sliding down to the stuck one. Well, he didn't prove his point too well. His winch couln't cut it, so Glenn pulled foward and dragged them both to safety. The rest of the
run was uneventful. We finally made it to the smoothest dirt road in AZ...NOT! Horseshoe Dam Rd was the roughest part of this run. This was one of the funnest runs I've done so far. Thanks to everyone for showing up.

That is a nice set up Les, if you don't need the cupholders. I do
use my cup holders for coffee, but definatly would give them up for
that idea. Good luck with it, and keep us updated if you do it that
way.

Hello All,
Mike Acuna is leading a FR-42 trail run on Saturday, February 16, 2002.
When: Saturday February 16.
Where: Bartlett Lake pay station 10:00am. Start at about 10:15am.
Rating: 3.0+
Length: 3-4 hours
CB Channel: 4
Hopefully someone who has ran this entire run will show and lead the way.
I have made the run from Indian Springs Wash back into the
Verde and seen where FR-42 crossed Indian Springs. I'm not
exactley sure of the starting spot, but I think I can find it.
I would like to run the entire FR-42 from Bartlett to Horseshoe
Dam Rd. Don't forget the groceries and plenty of water.

It is my understanding that in this year, 1990, the YJ had either
the AX

one is

I think it looks great and is a nice idea for someone who doesn't use their

sure looks like a professional install.

Mike &; Karen

That is a nice set up Les, if you don't need the cupholders. I do
use my cup holders for coffee, but definatly would give them up for
that idea. Good luck with it, and keep us updated if you do it that
way.

First time for me on this trail, great sites, great fun and of course great people. The damage I sustained was one of my headlights which was apparently damaged by some rocks that flew my way (hrm wonder how that happened..Mike?? ;) ) I got ya back once you let me in front of you :)
I and my kids (Spencer and Kirstyn) thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was great to meet some more members and see a few from my first run with the club ("Camo Cow" Gary and Bruce).
Thanks!
-Mike

Hello All,
Mike Acuna is leading a FR-42 trail run on Saturday, February 16, 2002.

We are using his house and garage and POWER tools (grunt grunt).
Anyone wanna help work on something that doesn't require wd40 on
