What are you trimming? I think you ought to get 'em painted before you install them. No reason to go through the install process twice.

Installed the driver side first. Using the lic plate bolts and some extra hands, we temp. held the corner on and This helped as a guide for all the other bolts. It does help to already have the PS rockers, another alignment tool. Once a few holes were drilled, we fastened the corner to the side of the jeep. I also sprayed them with some flat black paint untill we can get them painted to match the jeep. Next step is too finish drilling and use a 1" holesaw to have access to the very front and very rear of the bolts.

You pre install them because it is easier to drill all the holes necessary without having to worry about scratching all the new paint, and sometimes it takes a little muscle/sledge work to make them fit properly. Install/fit, remove, paint, reinstall. Then go out and drag them across some big rocks, repeat!;)

You can touch them up after they are on if you wish.

I used a rattle bomb too! I figured they were gonna get torn up anyway, why do a great job of painting only to get mad when they get trashed! And I have alreadt dragged them quite a few times over the rocks.

I figure it was cheaper to buy these than to fix existing damage, after another dent they would be paid for!!!! I look at this protection as insurance....Again I did not buy these to purposely run into big rocks to say look at the trail carnage...

JasonWell, mine will be for sale soon as I am cutting the rear of my tub off and tubing it out. Unless my brother wants them but I will be doing my best to convince him to cut and stretch his as well.

I will also have a Kilby gas tank skid plate for sale as well.

Check the "for sale" section in about 2 weeks.

I've had mine on and off 3 times. And they get scratched everytime I'm out. Funny thing though, I still have yet to see a pair of crusher corners so scratched up that a decent paint job would've been ruined.

Maybe I'm a little confused though, if you paint 'em a color other than black and they get scratched up, do you have cover the scratches w/black paint?:D

I'm having them color matched, The paint will be more durable than the factory paint:) I also will trim them this week to fit the smaller lift.

What does the rockrash have to do with the color? You have them off now...perfect time. Mine are now white and when they get scratched, it's not as if purple or some weird color shows up. I think matched sliders look a lot better, plus they work better too!

Black is an easy color to respray:rolleyes: I like to have a blend of black and red..too much black might as well own a black jeep...too much red can be bad too.;)

What about getting them line x'd???? Or is powder coating the way too go:confused:

I would pass on Line X or PC...IF you plan on still wheeling it regular. Line X or any other coating is hard to match up after some get peeled off. As for PC, not really worth the money when rattle can will do just as well.

I DO get mine PC'd every 2-3 years. NOT for the PC, but rather to have them strip all the coats of paint off so I can start again.:D

I'll probably just keep them PC and repaint the trimmed peices and after a while just re-PC them.

How long did it take you to get your PS corners? I am on about week 4 and still not shipped. But it is for a CJ.

The flares for my corners took about 6 weeks, I think they got lost in the shuffle due to a large order. I think I'd still be waiting if I hadn't called and checked on 'em a second time.

I use our supplier typically,But in this case shipping would have been more expensive..So I called Simon@ 4wheel supply and they were in stock;)
I would never order direct with PS, You can save money buying elsewhere and you will find their dealers stock the actual product!

Walter,

Were having a PS corner CJ race, mine are supposed to ship by the end of the month so we'll have to see whose arrives first... ;) Ordered mine through 4 Wheeler's and of course they are special order as I wanted to retain the CJ wheel opening and still use stock box tail lights to retain some character..

I have never had a prob ordering form PS. They are actually really nice folks specially if you get to talk with AJ. She sat on the phone with me for about 45 min trying to get my CC working. I have also noticed that most places prices are pretty close to what they sell for.
