Specs:
455 Buick, RV cam and Manifold, Quadrajet Carb.
TH400 Transmission, Novak Adapter, Dana 300 with 4:1 Tera Low.
1350 long travel driveshafts, Semifloat Dana 60 Rear 4.86 R&P, ARB, Anti Wrap bar. Dana 44 Front 4.86 R&P, ARB, Chromoly shafts, CTM's. Custom crossover steering, 1.5" .250" wall tie rod and drag link, Ranch 9000 shocks, 37" MTR's. Weelbase stretched to 102" via shackle reversal in front, and S-10 springs in back, 32 gallon gas tank, full cage, Warn 8274-50 Winch. A bunch of other stuff, but that's all that's important. I built this rig for my son, but at the moment it seems he's lost interest in it, (He's only 12, and somehow video games are more appealing. ) so I'm driving it for some old school wheeling!
Windshield was left at the parking lot, this photo was on the way to Anaconda.

Well for me I have always liked the pickup look so when it came to a Jeep it had to be a Scrambler! Only had it since Sept 2006, slowly going thru it and upgrading and replacing what I can on a novice's experience and limited budget.
Specs:
1983
258 I-6 with newly installed Howell TBI
T-5
Stock vehicle with these recient repairs/replacements:
3-core radiator, new thermostat, hoses, fan, water pump, overflow bottle
new gas tank and sending unit
new Tuffy center console and glove box
new ignition switch, new headlight switch
"YJ" style mirrors replacing "CJ" type
CB radio and antenna
new exhaust system from down pipe to tailpipe
Still need to rework and strengthen some rusty spots. My goal is just to slowly go thru all systems and upgrade them. I have no intent to ever do a frame off resto as I don't see the need to spend big bucks making it look cosmetically beautiful and then go scratch and dent it up wheel'n. If I want a good look'n one, I would have bought a new one!

:( I KNOW!
As Ive said it sucks not having any other "Jeeper" near me...when I used to wheel it we would get together during the week/weekend's and help wrench on each others Jeep.
I just need to charge the battery and fire it up/get current emmissions on it

I actually had a frame for it...or my YJ...had to leave it behind when I moved because I didn't have any way of moving it or a place to put it once I moved! I'll eventually get it finished...just need to move to a place where I can actually work on it and get some finances to break loose so I can afford to work on it!

Remaining original stuff parts include; suspension springs, axles, frame & skids, body (most of it anyway), BW-1339 T/case, TH-400 trans, originally a 258, but is now motiviated by an AMC 401, equipped with GM TBI.

Ironhead is 1955 Jeep CJ-5. It's kinda a bastard red headed step child, since it has a Chevrolet V-6 drivetrain and a set of Ford full width HD axles. Anyway, here are the specs...
Chevy V6 Motor (200 HP +/-),
SM420 Transmission (4 Spd, Granny Gear)
Dana 20
4 Core Griffin Aluminum Radiator,
Adjustable Brake Booster
Auto Meter Gauges
Removable Steering Wheel
Custom Full Rollcage
40" Military Tires on 16" Aluminum Rims
Ford 9" Rear / HD D44 Front
5.13 Gears
Spooled Front & Rear
Superwinch Locking Hubs On The Front (Changing to Warn hubs as
soon as the $$$ allow it)
SOA +3" Springs
Quarter Eliptical Springs Front & Rear
Fox Racing Shocks on all four corners. Two fronts are reserve reservoir shocks.
Rocklights
KC 150's Lights
Dual Battery
Warn 8274
Hydraulic Assist Steering
On Board Air
More stuff I cannot think of right now...
And what does all this equal boys and girls... 100:1 +/- crawl ratio.
The first things I will address is the oil leak is has, and the paint job. Even though I got this rig to do extreme trails, the paint that is currently on it is flaking and peeling. I'll probably keep it black, for the time being. Also, I'll be doing some minor fab projects to it soon, like mounting the Hi-Lift, the Spare Tire and some other little stuff, not to mention the D44 diff cover.

1946 Willys CJ2A, stock 134 CID, flat head four cylinder, T-90 tranny, Spicer 18 T-case, Dana 27 front and Dana 41 rear both open diff, with 5.38 gears, CJ3A windshield frame. Not ready for the trail or road yet, but the build up will start soon.
Upgrades include, Rancho 2.5 inch lift, 32x9.50 Swamper TSL's, Lockright for the rear, Warn hubs, a real roll cage, seats, Saginaw steering, disc brakes up front, 11 inch drums for the rear, and more stuff I'm missing.....

The Jeep is going through a re-build this spring and summer. The plans on the chopping block include:
-Re-attach bumper/tow bar.
-Replace windsheild and ws frame (already have the parts)
-Sand, straighten, bondo and paint body with the free help of Tom Stephenson, a locally famous Chopper painter, whose work has been in Easyriders Mag.
-33's!!!
-Install full soft top.
I will post pics when we are done, it should look like a million dollars when were through. At least compared to that awful picture after the flop and destruction of the bumper.

Sorry for the street poser, but this (fiberglass) puppy isn't hitting any rocks until I get more protection installed.

A shot of my 85. It has been kept mostly stock by its two previous owners so it will need a few things. Glad to join the group.

OK here is what I am starting with. Already purchased and installing 4" lift springs plus 1" body lift, shackle reverse, new interior, front and rear bumpers, winch, hard top w/hard doors, 33x12.50 BFG MT's. (just need some time......). Already rebuilt the rear end. Looking forward to my first outing..... I will post some updated pics in a couple months.
