I have the same truck but mines 2 wd. That looks awesome! Is it 4wd or 2wd?

Its a Prerunner. In the end I couldn't justify buying a 3rd 4 wheel drive. Between my Tj and the wifes Wj we should be all set.

i was wondering, how do you like this truck? My dad is planning on getting one of these soon and was wondering how comfortable the back seat is on these trucks. Also, what kind of mileage does it get? Btw, lift looks great. Those trucks look really nice with a slight lift.

Like the truck alot. The back seats have more leg room than our WJ Grand Cherokee. With the cap on I get about 23 mpg / without cap about 20mpg. The 4L V6 is nice and peppy but I wouldn't say it has power to spare.

Hey Tom I have a 2WD prerunner too. Did you install the lift yourself? If you did was it difficult? If not where did you get it done at? And what did you have to trim on the fenders? Plastic or sheet metal?

Yes. No. Luke AFB auto skillz shop. Plastic.

Wait, it you do this lift you aren't going to buy my tires are you? :D

Really, if you want to lift yours I'll lend a hand. It's a 5 hour job.

I just looked at the Tough Country website and it says it's for 4WD. I'm assuming it also fits 2WD since it only looks like spacer's and add a leafs. I'm trying to convince my wife since she drives it daily. If she agrees then No I won't be buying your tires.:D

By the way, I haven't used the auto hobby shop on Luke since I was stationed there in the mid 80's.:)

Uhhhhh...No!:) As a matter of fact my son who is in the Air Force now was born at the Luke hospital.

Another question on the lift. Which one did you get? The basic spacer and AAL kit or the one that requires new shocks?

Tom Schenk

This is the kit I have.

http://www.tuffcountry.com/suspension_toyota_tacoma_05.html (http://www.tuffcountry.com/suspension_toyota_tacoma_05.html)

Add-a-leafs in the rear, th front has 1/2" powder coated steel spacers that go above the strut and a 2" billet aluminum spacers that go above the spring.

No need for longer shocks, but you will need new wheels to run 285 tires or they contact the upper control arms.

If you want to get some more power out of it add a K&N FIPK and a cat back exhaust,we did this to a few trucks and the difference was unbelievable. Don
