I don't need one of these but if you are in need of a CO2 tank I just saw this on Craigslist. $20 for a full tank or $15 for an empty.

Do these have the high flow regulator that doesn't freeze up? Have you aired up a set of tires yet?

It is a high flow regulator. Its the fixed Source one. I believe Barry is using the same regulator on his CO2 tank. I use the adjustable high flow Source on my tank as well.

Actually I have used it with a 1/2 Ingersoll Rand impact and it worked as good as my at home air compressor... If you are looking for a complete kit this was the best deal I found...
Came with a:
10lb tank
Regulator
Quick disconnects and lines and air chuck
HD bracket
Rock guard for regulator
Here is the "blurb" from their ebay ad:
PLEASE VISIT OUR WEB SITE AT AANDWMOTORS.COM FOR ALL JEEP ITEMS AT SALE PRICES AND DISCOUNTED SHIPPING.
COMP SERIES HyperFLO Systems HyperFLO Source™ systems include lightweight aluminum powder coated**10 lb tank with New ROCKGUARD™ protection, HyperFlo regulator, 20ft Comp-Flex hose, quick connects, tire chuck and the high quality, powder coated tank bracket. Best Price On The Market! Comes in yellow or black. Add 25.00 for brushed aluminum. This is a great system. When used with tire deflators there is no need to wait for air in line at a air station and these units will reseat a bead on the trail. CALL FOR OTHER SIZE TANKS IN THIS SYSTEM
They were very nice to deal with, shipping was out of California and I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of the mounting bracket, quick couplers and air line (not Harbor Freight junk)... All I added was a liquid filled pressure gauge that I bought at Phoenix Welding when I had the tank filled Saturday morning. Being an old nitrous drag race guy I know tank pressure doesn't matter as much as weight but atleast it will give me somewhat of an idea on what's going on in the bottle...

thats an awesome deal! and you can get cheap regulators from some ace hardware stores for $20
my regulator isn't as good (or as expensive) as the powersource ones but its doesn't freeze up untill I've aired up all 4 tires, so no biggy

No they don't!! We used to sell them when I first started out in the biz with Theon Wier and they froze up all the time..
Sun's setup is the Best in the Biz..
The QuickAIR CO2 will fill a 35 X 12.5 tire from 15 to 30 PSI in 40 seconds, and can fill twenty 35" tires before re-filling is needed.
This system features a very high quality regulator - this regulator outperforms the regulators found on all low cost CO2 systems. This regulator will flow over 20 CFM without freezing!!!!

Mine didn't freeze up today.... Changed two tires on the subie instead of waiting for the house compressor but my air gun uses less than 8cfm so that might have been why... I will lick the thing instead of pay $400 plus for the others and if it does freeze up too often in the future I can always pickup a better regulator... But I only have 32's and air down to 15 and run 22 on the street so I am happy... :D

Also keep in mind that what freezes it up is the constant flow through the regulator such as when filling up a large tire. Sporadic use such as what it will experience with an impact gun isn't going to freeze it up.

Well I just picked up 2 of them from that craigslist seller. I've never bought them before and didn't think to look at that. It appears as if the 1 has a date of 10/01 and the other one 12/99. I believe these are the dates in question.
I'm assuming now that these tanks may have to be re-certified after a certain amount of time? If so, how frequently?
BTW, these are 20# aluminum tanks if anyone is wondering (the seller didn't know). She has 1 more left and I may actually sell one of the ones I bought as I really don't have a need for 2 20#....

Mike, I don't know how often certifying of the tanks are required... but if you go to thunderbird cylinder they will re-certify them if needed and restamp them... then they will fill them for you. Not sure how much recertifying will cost though as I've not had to do that myself yet.

I just got off the phone with Phoenix welding. He said most tanks every 5 years. I went to Powertank's website and there's are good for 5 as well. So it sounds like that's the magic number (I read online somewhere that fire extinguisher tanks were good for 10). Anyway, he said they charge $15 to recertify the tank and that "more than half the time they forget to charge for recertification". :D So regardless, I'm sure $15 was a great deal on this tank even though it looks like I'll have to recertify it.
The other option is to just trade it in on fill up for another tank. If it's like my BBQ they never check the certification date before they hand you a new tank. :)

every eight years steel or 5 for alum ( I believe) .........and the cost is around 65 to 100 each, if you can get recertified for 15.00 jump at it! I was quoted 65.00 (the test takes an hour or more to conduct)
