Drew finally got his Jeep back on the trail, so a few of us ran Anaconda with him.

Here are some pics:

Had trouble catching up to Drew for some photos. He was wheeling pretty fast, but the Chute slowed him down a little

Great pics Bill.

*** happened to the wheel!!!!

He lost a bead on the right rear, climbing a fall, the lightweight, soft aluminum wheel was hard into the rocks with the weight of the Jeep on it. The rocks won.

Nice pics, but way too small! ;-)

I just finally had a shackle hanger tear off on my YJ as well. Got replacements from www.ruffstuffspecialties.com. Very reasonable price...simple enough to make yourself, but for their price, which included new bushings...was worth the time savings.

Drew - make sure you check your steering box/bracket bolts while you're under there as well. Don't ask why I suggest this. Be quiet, Barry!!!

OK...went back and looked at the pic. Disregard my last comment above. I see you already appear to have ditched the stock YJ steeering box mounting. Still running the stock box? Any description of what it is you fabbed for a new mount? Forgive the oversimplification, but it looks like just a piece of tubing welded to bottom of frame???

Good fun yesterday for sure.

I can tell already that Drew's rig is going to be a good performer.

Roger and Drew's Jeep are both running the same steering box mount. The stock mounting bracket is tossed. The Stock steering box is rotated straight, which tucks it up nicely away from rocks. The grille will need to be notched slightly. The frame is sleeved with two pieces of tube and welded for the upper box mounts, the lower box mounts are tube welded to the bottom of the frame. The pitman arm may or may not need to be changed depending on clearance (If you install a Dana 60 and move it forward a couple inches for extra wheelbase, you may want a straighter pitman arm.)

We had a good time yesterday. R.D did a excellant job driving, I am more nervous watching him than when am driving. He said the only time that he was a little uneasy was going up the chute, but with the help of Bill spotting him he made it up pretty easy.

He had a I'm a bad ***** look on his face at the top
