Does doing this gain me anything with the stock skid plate.......???
Saw this on Pirate and thought that it would be a cost effective, easy way to beef up the stock tranny skid and get a smoooth belly....
Thoughts?

Is that some variant of UHMW plastic Jeff? If so that'll certainly help some. It'll be even better if you can tuck it up as close to the frame rails as possible.
There's a counter argument for leaving the drivetrain low for reduced CoG, but that remains theoretical and in this case questionable until you actually crunch some numbers in order to weigh the possible benefits.
If your approach shown is cheap enough for you to try, it certainly won't hurt.
I've got about $2K invested in my flat and flush skid plate so I am sure you are well ahead of the game.

The tape is showing 22" at the belly.

Haven't done anything yet Barry... Ripped those photos from Pirate... just look 100% easier than going full flat.. Although I certantaly can..... I have the 1" MML (polly from MORE), high angle CV shaft with a ton of spline, a tucked exhaust, and a cross member.....
