Several "Westsiders" have expressed an interest in doing this mod. on their Jeeps. I live in Goodyear, in a gated community called Pebblecreek and have room for five or six Jeeps on my carport.
I'm thinking Jan. 30th. (Tuesday) but if we need a weekend day, that would be Feb. 3rd....
Let me know if you want in, we might do it both days if there is enough interest.

I'm pretty sure that I could come over to help out and lend moral support. What equipment, parts, and supplies are needed?

I would be interested, I have been meaning to get a killswitch put in recently.
If it happened on the 3rd that would work out better.

Thanks Clay, It's a simple operation, you need a small switch that you can hide, enough speaker wire to reach from your relay/fuse box under your hood to the secret place. If you want to use your own soldering iron, bring it, solder and some shrink tubing. I have everything but the switch if you want to use my stuff, that will be fine.
Just so you all know, this mod. only works for late model Jeeps, with electric fuel pumps and the relay that controls it.
Hey Jeff, we must have been typing at the same time! Since it was you that taught me how, it would be great to have you here for this. :)
Ben, I will put you down for Saturday, it would be easier for me on Tuesday, but we will go with whatever is more popular with the gang...

This sounds cool. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but never got around to it. I can't get out of work on the 30th, but I'd be up for the Feb. 3rd date.

This sounds like fun. I think I know where to interrupt the wire from the fuel pump, but would like to know if a 94 YJ is a "later" model so that this would work on my jeep. I already have the switch. Will get some wire from Radio Shack. Lurking here.

Hey Jack, if you have a fuel pump in your gas tank, and a relay under your hood that controls it, you're good to go. I don't know of any way to do an older Jeep with the mechanical fuel pump. You don't need to make a trip to Radio Shack, I have plenty of wire here, and if Jeff shows up, he has a whole reel of it.

Wayne,
I can do the 3rd. :) Wouldn't mind having a jeep made of kill switches too. :p
Any wheeling after, it's going to be the day after a full moon so a nice night run would be cool... and we could do it at the tanks! :D

Looks like most folks want this on Saturday the third of Feb. So unless we have bad weather, including another cold snap, we will start at 10 am. Those that want to come need to PM me for directions.

Wayne, Where do I get my parts and pieces?

Mike, I got my switch at Auto Zone. Light gauge wire is there too. I don't know if they have heatshrink, but I have some. If Jeff shows up, he has a whole reel of wire that is perfect for this mod. If not, I have some speaker wire that works as well.

Ill be there to assist and can provide most everything exept the switch. Radio Hack has them if you are looking for a small easy to hide switch

If for some reason you do not see me, it's cause my sorry butt is still passed out. I've got 9 legs in 2 days.

Had a great turnout, I think eight or nine installs. Here are some pic's I got while everyone was here. HYJAK had lots of company;

Nice shot of Ben's TJ, it's not really brown, he just wheels with Snipe alot, and thinks that mud and dents are "sick"

Jim was our designated solderer, thanks for the help figuring out the older relays too Jim, my electronics tech. is a little rusty....:) Here is Jim helping Jamie, who had other issues due to the tweaker biatch that used her Jeep for a bed a while back.

Jack with a big smile after his switch worked!

Our designated lurker, Brian had the highest mall rating with the blue flames... Really nice rig Brian...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/allands/IMG_2679.jpg?t=1170537688
Jim's Scrambler was the most unusual, and quite nice in spite of some rust issues....
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/allands/IMG_2676.jpg?t=1170538099
Here's Ben with a big smile, his XJ has a beautiful dark purple paint job that this pic. doesn't do justice too... I think that is Mark with him.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/allands/IMG_2673.jpg?t=1170538360
Finally, here is Mark and his son, (sorry can't remember his name) who did alot of the wire pulling. Hope to see you out wheeling the other YJ soon.
