Avoid Sun West City Auto body. They did some work on my '05 to fix damage done from hitting a dear. Tried to pick up twice and had to have them redo work. First time repair done to drivers side right above jeep stamp behind front tire was so rough you could feel it with your hand. Brand new fender had dent in it. Second time they fixed hood even though insurance paid for new one. Didn't catch that first time, only made it half way around before I told them to redo it. Second time plastic fender flair had scratch in it. And the painter stoped on the crease just before rear corner. Had a solid line where you could see new paint and old paint. Caught hood on this inspection and told them to replace that. No attempt to even blend the paint in, just picked a line to stop at and left a very noticable line. Some other little things as well.

All in all, very poor craftsmanship. Geico, who was great through the whole process, has red flagged them. Geico was extremely helpfull and did everything they could to speed the process up. After 6 weeks to get a fender, hood, and a minor dent behind front wheel fixed I was not happy.

Avoid them at all costs. I don't want to sound to negative but, don't want anybody else to have to go through the trouble I had to. If you use geico and have an accident, try to get Dan Watson as your adjuster. He was great.

Thanks for the feedback, sorry you didn't have any better luck. BTW, you related to Tom Pfeiffer?

Just as a side bar, generally (insurance fild) impacts with animals are considered COMPREHENSIVE claims (therefore subject to applicable deductible and do not cause increase in rates).

Yep, when I was 16 I hit an Elk in Christopher Creek and it was the same thing. My agent called it an "Act of God" so my rates didn't go up. These days God is a bad word so I'm sure they use another word to describe it. :D

Not necessarily true Steve. I lost a Jeep and motorcycle due to a house fire, and now am paying through the nose for my insurance, despite it being an "act of God".

I never referred to "act of God" (mingoglia). Are you saying motorcycle rates went up? what company? Many insurance companies now have "claim free" discount ($10-80 / 6 months depending on vehicle/coverage).

They are now using "no fault" accident. And in those situations, insurance dosn't go up. Just had to pay the deductable.

As far as bad experience, someone has to take the lumps so everybody else dosn't. It was my turn.:D

And no, im not related to tom pfeiffer. Atleast that I know of.:) Not exactly a lot of people that spell the last name the same. Well, I guess there is Michelle Pfeiffer.

/agreed
A similar situation for me, except i hit a retreded tire with my car. Insurance called it "COMPREHENSIVE" and was paying for the full repair. i was told to go to Sun West City auto where they tried to repair my front clip rather then replace it, shot just one coat of paint(first go-around) and didnt follow up with a clear coat. My insurance was USAA btw, and i did report the absolute crap done by them.
