I'm curious to see what Cochran AZ looked like when it was populated with buildings and people. I understand the town was alive in the early 1900s with a population of perhaps 100. I tried a Google search but couldn't come up with anything but photos of the Coke Ovens across the river. Does anyone know of any photos of Cochran?
TIA.

You may want to check with Don Pryor... I believe he has some personal photos from when he was a kid...
Just kidding Don. ;)

Yea, that's a good idea. I was hoping I could find something via the web, but if not ...
BTW, thanks for the info.

You might try the Arizona Historical Society;
http://www.azhs.gov/
Also the Arizona room at the main library on central and McDowell. They have lots of reference data.

I have a bit of an interest in the Bradshaw's and found this a while back while trying to do something similar.
It may offer a possible source for the future but may not contain any details about Cochran. I did not check.

Well no luck with Pinal County Historical Society Museum and Arizona Historical Society (Tucson) when I gave each a call. And Sharlot.org appears to be just for Yavapai County.

If there was anything ever written about Cochran, It should be in the Arizona Room at the main library like Wayco says. When I lived in Phoenix, I could get lost in there for days.:D

I only called the Tucson 'branch' because I figured they would handle the Pinal County. I'll try Central/McDowell.

That's the first place that showed up on my Google search for Cochran AZ. Unfortunately, it only shows the Coke Ovens (as far as buildings go) and I wanted to see the actual 'town' of Cochran. If there are any photos (i.e., 1915 vintage) they are probably in private hands.
Thanks,

Tucson is in Pima countyso good luck with them for anything Pinal County related. I know the Arizona Room very well too. I spend as much time in there as I do on the trails. Lots of good reading.
