I am primarily posting this to guage interest in a seminar on 4 wheeling driving techniques and practices.

Depending on interest, this can take shape as separate seminars on Beginning/Intermediate techniques and Practices, and a more Advanced level course.
A couple of people have voiced their willingness to share their experience to help some of the newer people realize the capabilities and limitations of wheeling their current setup.

Wayne Jamie, and I are currently on the list of instructors.

If this sounds like something you you would be interested in, post up and we will try to set up a day of wheeling and learning fun!

I was talking to Heinz57 this morning, and he sounded interested in participating as an instructor, too.

There appears to be enough interest. I'm thinking of holding the seminars at Table Mesa. Probably on a Saturday.

Something like:
Beginning Techniques and Practices on Raw Deal.
Intermediate Techniques and Practices on Terminator.
Advanced Techniques and Practices on Anaconda.

I'm thinking like the 20th or the 27th of January.

A Jeep capable of the trail the Seminar is held on. A driver.

The trail ratings for each seminar level should give you a pretty good idea what you'll need equipment wise. Keep in mind, most of us don't wheel with all the equipment we really need. :D

I'm very interested in learning anything you guys want to share. And thanks for getting something going on this. I've been out with a lot of you and followed a few of you, but really didn't know if I was doing things correctly or not - except when I blew a tire on Predator (not correct) and twisted off the end of my axle recently (again, not correct). So yeah, I'll be a sponge for info! :)

I'm starting to lean on the 20th as well, so we can all count on that.

Yes, I will have "outlines" available for things I want to be covered, but I'm really wanting a more "Personal Touch" for the instructors to relate to their experiences. That way, I'm not strapping you down with a bunch of stuff. People will probably learn better from what works for you. There is nothing saying if something in the "Outline" doesn't agree with you, that you can't mold it to fit what you believe to be important.

I don't think we'll do a meeting so much as I'll e-mail you the outline, and any issues, concerns etc. can be handled via e-mail or PM.
There will be less scheduling conflicts this way.

I began structuring the Instructor Assignments.
My idea is to have one Lead instructor, and one or more Assistant instructors per Seminar.

Based on what I have available to me, these are the people and some assignments based on what I believe to be the best match of instructor to seminar material:

Beginning Techniques and Practices on Raw Deal.

Lead instructor:
Wind_Danzer (Jaime)

Assistant instructors:
Shnipe (Dennis)

Intermediate Techniques and Practices on Terminator.

Lead Instructor:
Wayco (Wayne)

Assistant Instructors:
LKD TJ (Travis)

Advanced Techniques and Practices on Anaconda.
Lead instructor:
Heinz57 (Barry Brummett)

Assistant Instructors:
Hackle (Jim F.)
TwstdTJ (Jeff)

We could still use an extra Assistant instructor on The Basic and Intermediate Seminar.

Now that we know there is an interest in this, there will be trip runs set up in the appropriate Trail runs Section of the Bulletin Board.

Those interested in making a seminar will need to post under the thread for the trip in which you are interested in.

This will also allow me to guage size of the run to make sure there's a good instructor/Student ratio.

Are you there to be educated or thrilled? There's a few theme parks around, or you could go to South Phoenix and start yelling racial epithets. I am sure that'd be pretty thrilling.

A pile of poeple at the last one didn't bother listening to advice or instruction and ended up making very silly driving decisions. It was also way over crowded for the number of people. The people that paid attention and took it seriously claimed they picked up something.

I guess part of the equation is what you put in as a participant. Something to keep in mind while you're looking for thrills.

Cool, the down side is that I have run LRD and LT enough, I want to run Anaconda, I have run it once on 33" tires, and also did not have the 4:1 installed, now with the 35" tires and 4:1 I want to run it again, but I am with peepinjeepin or peepjeepin, I don't have a winch. I did need a little tug to get through last time in the rock garden, but don't know how the organizers feel about it... We all know Bill is a bald hard arse, he may not allow it...<sniff>
