Well, we told you that the new year was going to bring about changes, and here's a doozy to start with.
DesertFab Motorsports is proud to announce the launch of our online store.
From here, you'll be able ot buy any of the products we sell in the shop or over the phone, from the privacy of your own home. That's right, you can shop in your boxer shorts.
We've been working on this for a little bit and have finally gotten it to a point where we're ready to put our name on it.
We're constantly adding new lines and products, and haven't really scratched the surface of what all we offer. If what you're looking for isn't there, then please call the shop and inquire as we probably do carry it.
Oh, wait, I forgot to tell you where to go!
http://shopping.desertfab.com
As always, we value your business and privacy, and this is no exception. You're creating an account with us will only allow us to get product to you. Neither us nor our vendors that we may drop ship from will use your info in any way except to get product to you. There is a place where you can Opt In for a newsletter from us, but it is Off by default.
All payments are currently being handled by PayPal. However, with our account type, you don't need a PayPal account to purchase with nearly any form you choose.
If you have a product idea for something you'd like to see us carry or build, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll talk to you about getting it.
Group Buys and even gift Certificates are in the works for this site.
About the only thing we aren't going to try and sell through the site is the custom work you've all come to know us for.
Any suggestions for this new endeavor are welcomed, just email shop at desertfab.com and someone will respond.

Thanks for a great 2006 and we look forward to serving you in 2007 and beyond!
Again, that's http://shopping.desertfab.com

This was due to their configurability. We'll be adding ALL the PN's very fast and the prices will be corrected.

Dave... what ever happened to that Call For Price thing we were working on?

Awesome Dave. I know you have been working hard on this.

Can you also test on Mozilla (Firefox)? I see some bugs using Mozilla that don't behave the same way using IE. Quite a few of us use Mozilla exclusively for various reasons.

Looking good.

Yeah, it is worth it in your case, I think. Every browser has its own bugs and may implement certain gray areas of the W3C standards slightly differently. It is not a perfect universe, otherwise CA would be its own continent, LA would not have been built below sea level, and TX would have seceded (again) by now.

Yep, Firefox here as well. The last I checked my website logs (honestly months ago) Firefox was hitting my sites a tick over 10% of the time. Of course that's several times less than IE, but still a considerable percentage of your potential business.

that should be an easy fix as it's only happening on cats with more than one image. The resize command that happens live in the code is screwy for Firefox. I'll just delete all the extraneous vendor images or make them considerably smaller. That way I don't run a risk of hosing the code.

Thanks for pointing it out, Mike.

OK, fixed it for the most part. It has mainly to do with the stylesheet and how it downloads the nav menu now. I edited the subcategories section to allow for more room, and got rid of those hellishly large images that we don't need.
I'll look more into the nav menu, maybe just change the color of the text so you can see it. The link area is the same, it's just not pulling the background color of the nav menu until after a few clicks.

Glen, Those prices are correct.

firefox concerns...
I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox and everything is displaying fine for me. Please let me know the version you're using, as I'm on 2.0.0.1
My v1.x did display incorrectly, but the software's project tracker showed updates for this in the new version. Downloaded and everything appears fine and clear, especially with the few tweaks I made to show the categories table better.

Some issues with "Big Horn" and "Marvin Shaw" being presented twice on screen. The links and price box is fine, and the links are correct. But up above the same data is presented and is overlaid on the box above.

I'm in the office now on my BSD unix box with Firefox 1.5.04 and everything seems to be working (my Firfox at home I initially tried is on XP).

I am sitting at Earnhardt Dodge getting the turbo replaced on my truck and my lappy doesn't have Firefox (company box and corporate decision to not use it) so I cannot test right now.
The code is the same all around as it's template php. It could be that a dupe subcat is in there. I'll look in the admin panels.
Can you attach a screenshot?
I appreciate you guys' input and help as I'm just not able to see this. I initially tested on XPSP2, Win2K and Vista with FF 1 (2K box), IE6, IE7. I then updated to FF2.0.0.1 on XPSP2 and saw very little if anything. But I was looking more at the nav bar.
I'll look again once I get home, or investigate further if I can see a screen shot (it'll tell me where things are going hayware, or at least where to start looking)

Thanks!

I know we have them... they may just not be up yet. There is a LOT of stuff that hasn't made it up just yet

Use the search box if something's not where you expect it to be. One of the limitations is that parts cannot be easily assigned to multiple categories. We'd have to add it twice, and maintain it separately. So it's been decided that we'll put it where we think it goes, but that may not be your first thought, depending on your need (TJ/YJ mirror relocation brackets for example. I say accessories, Dave said Body protection)

nice!

We've prolly got 1000-1500 parts that will make their way to the site as fast as we can.
we'd made a deadline to launch on the 1st, and we stuck to it. now we have to work doubly hard to update and handle the inevitable questions :)
