None of the listed phone numbers work. I get a disconnected message.
I know he moved, searched the thread, but did he since go out of business?

And sometimes DsrtJeeper can be an arse.

Why do threads like this get so stupid and ignorant.
Can't stand when people point fingers and degrade specific shops on the board. Have you ever tried to own a shop? No. It's very difficult, esp in the first 2 years, like any business.

You people suck. Try bettering yourself before you all degrade others, for crying out loud.

I dont suck.

maybe Eric does...dunno...dont wanna know....

My comments are for every business owner out there...not any specific. It seems to me...the successful ones provide great customer service...any business, not just shops...this is why people that find a business that will honestly take care of them, will go back time after time, and REFER their friends and family as well....

It is NOT easy to own a business...but one that provides a service/product has to be oriented towards their customer they are serving..

If you want...we can UFC in the octagon saturday night to see who wins...or we can just throw darts...:D

so is this the reason you think Kevin closed up or were just making a statement that didnt really fit the thread

Jeeppeepin
12-29-2006, 01:32 PM
Exactly my freeking point!

This thread started as
Is Max 4X4 closed. Suddenly with the help of a few individuals, it began a spin off to how that shop sucked.
I'm tired of the BS and snide remarks.
There was no reason this thread needed to turn into a boxing match.
(and by the way, I am actually wheeling and camping this weekend, so I won't make the UFC/Darts plan)

Whether it was a good shop or not, it's closed now.
Why do we feel like we need to continue to beat a dead horse. Really?

AZG23

so is this the reason you think Kevin closed up or were just making a statement that didnt really fit the thread

Actually....Ive read several accounts of poor customer service...and have been to MAX 4x4 for several things that they never had...but said they'd order..but went elsewhere that had it in stock due to others experiences with ordering from them...

One of the times I went was for Warn D rings as my LoD front and rear bumpers will only accept the Warns...I was told they'd be bout $30 each...alot more than most other places I priced them at...

So...my experience wasnt the best...I had alot better service from Simon at 4 wheelers, and from Joe @ Absolute...so thats where I spend/spent my money. Where I felt like someone cared. So while it wasnt necessarily a slam to MAX 4x4....it was a general statement about customer service and decent prices, and that without them your business can/will suffer.

have a good one

Rachel,

this is my point:

"Life isn't like a bowl of cherries or peaches, it's more like a
jar of Jalapenos--what you do today, might burn your arse
tomorrow......"

Im not one to slam people other than Shnipe...and this wasnt meant to slam anyone, nor any one business...and perhaps it wasnt the correct venue to make the statement...but due to the experiences Ive had at MAX...felt it was one of the reasons they didnt make it. I dont gain joy from anyone not making it...

Sorry to have upset you..or inferred a derogatory slam....

Well, eveyone has a right to their opinion and I sure as h3ll have mine.
We all have our greivences toward people and shops. I know I do.
Your ligitimate issues are justly sound. I just got fed up with people trying to get their "digs" and "0.02" in without meaning. Just to get the Drama Club up and running again.

D*mn Rachel go back to the caffeine, got a little edgy on this one. I agree with what all of the others said. The shops that have made it are open for a reason. The ones that haven't are closed for a reason.

Oh, and by the way which 4x4 shop was it that you owned to have gained all of the knowledge that you professed above? :D :p :D

Okay Okay I won't be a smart arse anymore this year. :D

What "people" and what digs or 0.02? There was one remotely negative comment from one person. The rest seemed mostly unrelated to Max 4x4's performance either personally or as a business. Where are all these comments? Deleted already? Edited out? Curious.

If you have personal greivences, let's take them off the BBS. No one else needs to see this crap.

Unless someone has picked up the line no one does. The discounts that Max had were not much at all, NOTHING against Max, that is the way Nth does business. No one gets a big discount. In fact I have ended up going direct to Nth to get my stuff.

The shops that get the big discounts are installer shops such as "Extreme Rubicons" and a few others that almost ONLY install Nth products.
