They drop right on right? I am going to be building a HPD44 and already have Teras HD steering knuckle for their crossover system and dont wanna have to replace it all. Will they fit right up with or without minimal modification?

Should do, but you may want to check specifics with someone like Todd at DF first since they have done a few of these swaps. Maybe other vendors have too.

Good deal Barry. If they dont end up fitting correctly im sure the whole axle wil help recover some of the cost of the new one so it wont matter much in the end if i have to go a difference route

I know they were an easy swap with the CJ's but not sure on the YJ's or TJ's . If not let me know I am in the market for a HS for my TJ .

Push comes to shove, you can install the inner Cs and therefore any compatable knuckle on any axle you wish should it come to that. It isn't that big of a deal for those that are set up to do it. It's a matter of setting caster and welding them true.

If you weld Dana 30 inner C's onto that 44; I'll personally pump 6 rounds into your heep to end it's misery!
Retain those Dana 44 ball joints at all cost. Throw on some Chebby flat top knuckles and do a high steer. ;)

WHY?
They are the same ball joint as on a Dana 30(at least the later model XJ-TJ anyway).
The 44's strength difference comes from a larger/stonger inner "C" and knuckle, allowing the use of a larger axle shaft.

My '79 Ford HP Dana 44 had larger and stronger ball joints. Shniper plans on running 37's at some point and the upgrade is well worth it.
