I guess some assbag liked my ol' trailer better than I did. :(

If you see it being towed around, call 911 and report it. The police report is already on file. I doubt it the moron who took it is stupid enough to run the same license plate, but then again, you never know for sure. Some folks come out of the very shallow end of the gene pool.

I had it custom made 14 years ago when my '89 XJ was new. It has seen duty doing just about everything you could imagine.

Is that spot where it was stolen from? I chain mine to a tree!! With permanent plates, thieves love them.

Mine stay behind the locked gate, with a coupler lock and a chain thru the spokes on the wheels. The chain works damn good too. ;)

Nothing too special about the trailer. The wheels came from a Cherokee. The tail gate consists of three drop in 2x10" boards. The axle is set up spring over. The spare tire was not on the trailer when it was stolen. In the picture, it was just sitting there (there is no mounting bracket for it).

It use to sit in the side yard but was beneath a tree that dropped tons of leaves which caused rotting and rusting issues.

I wouldn't think anyone would be dumb enough to use the permanent plates given that they are reported stolen, but I guess it is possible.

Thanks all,

Stu

Sorry for your loss.

When I had a utility trailer, I put a U Lock thru the rim holes and around the leaf spring.

Sorry Stu. I didn't mean to appear critical. It was just the way it was sitting in the picture, that made me comment.

I am sure I'll draw some other comments when I say that it was probable taken by some illegal who is just starting a yard service business.

I will also be on the look out for it.

My money is on it becoming one of the hundreds of trailers I see heading west out of the valley every morning. They are going to the new housing developments with supplies for working on some part of the house for the day.

Thanks to everyone for keeping an eye out for it. It is appreciated very much.

They then fill the same trailer with appliances and copper wire stripped from those houses and haul it back in. Bastages!

Stu,
I know your frosted on this, as is anyone who has personal property stolen. Most likely you will never see it again, but hopefully the moon is in your favor and it will be found.

That sucks Stu. I will look for it also.
To those of you who think a lock through the wheels work good I had my new 16 foot tandem stolen with one of those real nice cable lock things ran in one tire & out the other through the frame so if they want it enough they will figure out a way.

Antman is correct. You can spot your trailer at a dump or transfer station somewhere in the valley.Behind a pee-kup.

Topic resurrected!

I saw a trailer similar to this on the way to work this morning. Only difference was the sides had steel mesh rather than wood. It had the angle over the tails, which is the key trait that I was looking out for. I figured it wasn't the same trailer because I didnt' remember it having mesh sides. I'll keep my eyes peeled. It was black, and full of landscaping equipment. I don't know how common it is to have the triangles over the tails, but this one certainly did. By the way this was comming out of fountain hills...
