I'm looking for a good transmission shop to service my 02 Grand Cherokee. There's nothing wrong with it, just want to get the fluid and filter changed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Careful. Once it's opened to change the filter it might suddenly have something wrong with it that requires $800 in labor.
One place I'll never take any of my vehicles to again is Sun Devil Auto. They are a shady outfit, imo.

the best place would be your own driveway.....cheaper and you get to learn something about your vehicle.....

I couldn't agree more. I do all of the maintainence on my TJ and most on the WJ. I just didn't want to deal with the mess of dropping the pan (no drain plug) and draining the converter.

yep....that does suck AND you need something that sucks to empty the converter......if you're in the east valley, I've had some pretty good luck w/K&B trans on Main Street.....avoid jiffy lube and those types of places though....

Ditto. Stay away from Sun Devil and Cottman transmissions. I've been screwed by both places in the past.

I've used Wilhelm's Automotive for several years now and have always been pleased with their work, costs, and customer service. Longtime, local, family owned business and there's one in Scottsdale at-

If you are willing to drive, Pro Transmissions on Northern and 67th Ave is a good place.

Check out Quality transmissions in Tempe. Bob jones is the owner, and is very active in both the professional side of Automotive (ASA, etc) as well as education. I have never had a vehicle serviced there, but I have known Bob for several years and he is a stand up guy. He puts alot of time and effort into helping Automotive students develop skills and find employment.
If you go there, tell him Yuma says Hello. :)

I've used Tri-City Transmissions before and like them. They used to be on McClintock just south of the 202 but have moved over to Rio Salado, east of McClintock. Brand new facilities.
