Does anyone know of a good book that helps to better understand the different mechanics of how things work better for off-roading? Such as difference between full floating and semi floating axles. The differences in coil suspension with shocks versus a coilover system. Along that sort of line.
I have read magazine articles, but I am interested in some type of book that has alot of info without having to sort through a bunch of magazines.
Or maybe even a DVD.

I saw one recently at borders books in avondale. In the car section, obviously.:p
It was something like "off road guide " or somthing like that. I had never seen it before. It was NOT the jeep owners bible or the older offroading handbook with the blazer on the front.
I didn't see if addressed the topics you mentioned but it did have a lot of good basic and advanced tips and tricks and great pics to boot.
It may have been this one...
